With pick #2 of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

They start rookie mini camp today. I'm sure we'll see some media of it by the end of today. It shouldn't be much since media is only allowed to watch stretching and individual drills.

Mett doesn't look like much of a fighter at all.

 

Although on a more serious note, I wish the media would stop trying to stur up a QB controversy. It takes very little these days to get one going.

 

They have nothing else to talk about. They've ran that 'deflategate' crap into the dirt. So tired of all of that.

 

All I got out of that is Mett might call out a hit on Mariota after he gets like 3% of the first team reps while Mariota has to get some water or take a leak.

We are going to get a QB controversy without a QB competition. Outstanding.

 

IDK I think we're a long ways from a QB controversy. If Mariota is really, really, really bad in camp/preseason I could see it happening.

 

I hope it's mature competition and not catty and devisive. I sense a little sour grapes from Mett and it's slightly understandable. I hope it doesn't create an environment that allows this crappy team to become gossipy and divided instead of focusing all it's energy on improvement. A lot of this is going to depend heavily on how the coaching staff handles itself. Hopefully Mariota is a silent assassin or Mett becomes supportive of his teammate and outshines him by throwing darts deep down field. Either way we need to gain an effective QB and a team that's united and supportive of both QB's. It should be interesting to watch.

 

I can't see him being very bad. I can see Mett beating him out arm wise, but that's about it. The kid is a leader, can run, and isn't a statue. I see a great healthy competition coming.

 

I don't really think it's that understandable. I mean, I get that he's competitive and wants to be a NFL starting QB. But he also needs to realize he's a 6th round pick who started 6 games last year and lost every single one of them. He was owed absolutely nothing heading into this offseason.

I've always liked Mett but the trade request really rubbed me the wrong way. And whether that came from his agent or Mett himself I really don't know, or care. Mett should keep his mouth shut and go out there and prove himself on the field IMO.
