Yes let's compare demeanors of safeties to QB's.

 

Mariotas humble demeanor will work. Rookies in particular need to know their place, coming in loud doesn't often win you many friends in the NFL. his performance will determine his future.

 

Pollard knew his stuff, he just knew what he knew too well and couldn't change his bad tendencies. But Pollard was always worth listening to.

 

Just because what he was saying was the truth, doesn't mean that it's in anyone's best interest that he go blab his mouth to the media, instead of doing something constructive.

He was part of the problem, not a solution, and I couldn't be happier that he's being replaced.

 

I dont mind that he was entertaining to listen to, what I do mind is him not following up on what he talked about happening.

Surely you don't think HE was the problem last year or the year before......

 

Pollard was quick to ask out of his contract when things went south with the team and has yet to find a job. #karma

 

He was not THE problem. But he was a part of it. There were too many problems to count. But he didn't help a thing, on or off the field. He was just a loudmouth malcontent.

He's going to be fine, beyond that, he'll be an excellent leader.

Regardless of his demeanor, the kid is a STAR..see Beats by Dre commercial, SI cover etc. That also earns respect in this league (as long as he's good on the field)..but some immediate success will come from the notoriety alone he's bringing to the team and to the city.

 

Any QB can lead if they play well.

If he doesn't play well- he won't be a leader. If he does- he will be.

That's really all there is to it.
