    Intangibles. Marcus Mariota has them.

I'm not sold this was the right team, right system for him. But the General Manager and Coach is sold on him. I have questions about some of the same things you all have questions on him about. The basic one that comes out the most. How will he transition? I think his intangibles, His IQ, His Character, His decision making, His leadership will keep him balanced as he learns the pro game. I don't think you will see him make ill advised throws. I don't think you will see him force anything. He will let the game come to him and make the right decisions in anyone sequence. He's a very instinctive player. If the open man is not there, he will beat you with his legs. If the play is there he will make the defense pay. Again, his intangibles will serve him will when transitioning to the Pro Game This is where I say he reminds me of Russell Wilson. Russell has been successful due to these very reasons. Marcus will be similar. I think physically Marcus is better.

In the end I compare these two quarterbacks and this draft to a little lesser extent to the quarterbacks and draft a few years back. Titans got Andrew Luck. Bucs got RG3. Physcially, Jameis may have it. But, I think he is an idiot. I think the Bucs are idiots for choosing him over Mariota. This I feel will unfold as the years pass. Marcus is a winner. Give him time to prove it.

Hope you are right but he is probably on IR by the end of the year with this team.

This is my biggest fear... Our OL.

God I hate our OL. We really need these rookie linemen to pan out. I hope and pray Poutasi is capable of playing RT. Mariota is dead if Bell starts.

I would sign Barksdale right now. We need insurance... can cut Bell before regular season.

Mariota will help bring the franchise back to relevancy. He has the ability to lead this team to victories, but he needs some help along the way. If DGB pans out, we could have a dam good combo for years to come.

This is another reason I question whether this is the right situation for him. He probably would be better off with a more established line like the Eagles. A few rookie qb's had they gone to the right situation prob would have turned out a lil better than they did. David Carr for one. But the Seahawks in Russell's first year didn't have a great offensive line and he escaped a lot of heat with his legs and mobility. Granted you can't rely on that. But it doesn't hurt to have this has one of his strengths.

Also, I have no idea how to high five. Can someone tell me how to do this? Thanks

    Welcome to the board!

I agree that Mariota seems to be a more disciplined QB on the field than Winston.. Just looking at the stats, you can see that MM didnt do anything but get better all three seasons he started at Oregon. His QB rating was 163.2, 167.7, and 181.7 ..

Meanwhile, Winston started only two seasons and dropped off substantially after his first year. It's one thing to shine your first year when youre taking the conference by storm.. its another thing altogether to do the same thing the following season when everyone knows whats coming.

I will say however that the Titans are not the Seahawks.. Mariota didnt win the draft lottery and land on a team that's a QB away from making a Superbowl run.. A lot of Russell Wilson's success is due to the team that was already there when he arrived in Seattle. Mariota's got an uphill climb in Nashville.
