Had to go B+. Despite me loving the draft, which would usually be an A, there are a few risky picks that knocked it down a bit.

Mariota, even though it's who I wanted, is a somewhat risk. Mainly because I don't trust Whiz. DGB, obvious is obvious. Fowler is a pick I love but was a bit high, if our offense doesn't use him in various ways then that could be a wasteful pick.

This is truly the ultimate boom/bust draft among all 32 teams. Pay off could obviously be franchise altering but the bust part...well we were already 2-14 anyway.

    Marcus Mariota: A+
Titans needed a face of the franchise, they got one in Mariota. The main knock from people so far has been the, "does Mariota fit Whiz's offense". Okay, let's see, if the Titans took a guy 2nd overall and didn't think the offense should be adapted and/or Mariota isn't a good fit then we have bigger problems than we thought. Mett was a solid QB but he was not the answer.

    Dorial Green-Beckham: B+
This is an A+ if I was able to see him develop more on the field and if he didn't have the obvious off the field issues. DGB still needs to work on his game but staying on the field is his biggest question mark. He's a big time talent who just needs a little work around the edges.

    Jeremiah Poutasi: B
I still think our target with this pick was Rob Havenstein. That would've been A+ but we had to move a bit down our list here. I don't know much about this guy admittedly but he's either going to be an upgrade at RT, will replace Levitre at LG if he shows out in camp or just takes a year and develops and starts the year after. Hard to knock a pick that will improve our OL. Could even see the Titans signing Barksdale for a year and then Poutasi takes over.

    Angelo Blackson: C+
The 4th round happened to have our two biggest reaches but I'm less thrilled about this one. Yes we sucked against the run and Blackson's main strength is run stuffing, that's why the grade is not lower. I watched a lot of SEC games over the years, including Auburn, and this guy never stood out. Which says something considering they've had some pretty bad defenses lately. He's raw, a project and just seems to fall into the depth category on our DL that isn't even all that impressive.

    Jalston Fowler: B
Here's the reach that I don't quite mind. He's very versatile in our offense, hell of an athlete, great football player and comes from a similar system already. We can line this guy up anywhere in the backfield or even along the line in certain packages. He's big but faster than you think, great picking up blocks and has soft hands that makes him dangers on 3rd downs by either running in short yardage situations or going out for a pass. He can be the best FB in the game. It's an A if made one round later but idk every team's draft board.

    David Cobb: A
Really liked this guy when looking at RBs, thought he would go earlier. Had a quad issue that hurt his stock a bit in the draft process. Played at Minnesota and suffered from a pretty crap OL, don't buy that he tries to be an East-West runner, wouldn't have survived if he run between the tackles all the time with that line. He'll know what's expected of him with us and is an instant upgrade over everyone, maybe even Sankey.

    Deiontrez Mount: B+
In Lebeau we trust? Looks to have some promise at OLB even though he lined up there and a lot at DE in college. He'll need a year or two to develop, which is more than fine considering we already have two better than average starters at the position.

    Andy Gallik: B
Again, not going to pretend I know a lot about this guy. His strength comes from his technique, not his athletic ability. Which is common with lineman as you get later in the draft, unless you go with the true projects. He'll push Schwenke in camp but don't think he has that high of a ceiling. Again, not going to knock the team for adding more depth and talent on this OL.

    Tre McBride: A
Maybe the biggest steal of day 3. Apparently he dropped this late because of his interviews but obviously the Titans are going for more risks to try and get the team back to winning. Could be more of a combine warrior because his numbers don't exactly show up on the field but this guy is a stud on the field regardless. I see him as an instant impact player on ST and think he has a future with us playing inside. He has plus size and speed, physical, not afraid to get hit and has a knack for finding the soft spots in a defense. Sounds like a perfect slot guy to me.

Overall, you kind of get the feel for what the Titans were doing. They went with Mariota and wanted to minimize the bust risk as much as possible. Got him the best weapon they possibly could, added a RT/G upgrade, gave him a swiss army knife at FB and another physical RB to go along with it, and then finished the draft with another lineman and another very good WR. We spent the money in FA on defense, now we turned to offense in the draft. A better offense will also help out our defense, an impact that we haven't talked about enough yet. If we went Mariota and then filled with defense for the next few rounds I would be way more concerned but love the idea/direction the FO had this weekend. Looks like we're going to have a power run game but have enough versatile weapons to also kill it in the passing game. I love the make up of the team, just hope Whiz can do something with all these interesting pieces. Ultimate boom/bust draft in the league. If our 1st and 2nd round picks turn out to be studs, then rest of the draft doesn't matter. Crazy to think in that perspective but it's true. Haven't been this excited about the team for a few years now.

It appears to me that firing Lake Dawson may have had a significant effect on the quality of our draft.

We came in 3rd on NFLNs national fan poll for "best draft. (brown's 1st, Jets 2nd). Sounds like mission accomplished for improved recognition across the nation.

    Tennessee Titans: A- Grade
Goals Entering the 2015 NFL Draft: The Titans need to come out of this draft with an upgrade at quarterback, whether that's selecting Marcus Mariota with the second-overall pick or trading for someone like Philip Rivers or Sam Bradford. This team simply cannot go into the 2015 season with Zach Mettenberger as its starting quarterback. Tennessee also needs to bolster the offensive line and secondary.

2015 NFL Draft Accomplishments: Drafting Mariota or trading for Rivers were the primary goals, and once the latter was unavailable, Tennessee's objective was clear; it had to select Mariota, barring a Herschel Walker-type trade offer. There are some who criticized the Titans for drafting Mariota solely because the owner wanted him, but that's far from the truth. Mariota was Tennessee's guy all along; in fact, the front office would've selected him over Jameis Winston.

The Titans did a good job of adding talent around Mariota on Days 2 and 3. Dorial Green-Beckham was a strong acquisition in the second round; if it wasn't for his character concerns, he would've been a top-10 pick. Jeremiah Poutasi, meanwhile, should offer an upgrade at either guard or right tackle, both of which were problem areas. Later on, David Cobb was a nice value pick, as he'll challenge Bishop Sankey for the starting running back job.

Tennessee had plenty of holes, so it was difficult to address them all. The secondary was completely neglected, and I felt like the fourth-rounder used on a fullback should've been spent on either a corner or a safety. But having said that, the Titans had an outstanding draft overall, and the fans should be excited about the team's future for the first time in a long while.
