I was talking to a lady at work today, get son played for a college team, don't remember who. He said Mariota was a great guy, came over to shake everyone's hand after the game and was just a cool dude. Doesn't mean he'll be a good qb, but it was cool he knew him. She said they were happy to see him go number trip and that he was worth it.

    True enough.

But hey! Mariota is a nice guy! He's a "leader"..... actually, he's pretty much a cardboard cutout in that area.

Mariota will be able to pick up first downs with his legs. That alone will make the offense better. Someone will have to spy him and that'll leave one less defender down field because one good thing about his legs...he can run. Matiota will be able to do that well.

His second year will be his most important imo. Defenses will reduce his lanes and it'll be up to his smarts and arm.

The fact that people can dislike Mariota is proof that some people can find negativity in anything. None of us have any idea how he's going to pan out in the pros, but on paper he has everything you would want. Accuracy, arm strength, athleticism, intelligence, leadership, he seems like a classy guy, had all the stats in college playing in big games. Unless you guys are just that stuck on Mett's dong, I really have no idea how anyone can hate this pick.

Hes a better prospect than anyone in the last two years. You can't just wait for an Andrew Luck to come by, chances are it will be another 5+ years, and we won't be in position to draft him.
