Rumor Mett's agent wants him to be traded? :/

    Yeah....they really need someone to keep Johnny Nightclub on the straight and narrow.

    I mean, yeah, I am sure that there are teams that will take him....BUT, what would they be willing to give up for him? Probably not much more than if we waived him outright, so what would be the point from our end?

    If we could flip Mett for a 5th or better we better think about doing it.

    Not thrilled about the idea of CBJ being the backup again tho

    I am still not sure I believe Mett is behind any of this...agents are about as shady as they come.

    Where is the Mett who pre-draft was all about "I will beat out either one of them"? If he is that good then he will be our starter. If he isnt...he won't. Its not that hard.

    What happened to the I can beat out MM and JW if they are picked talk? Mett has no leverage...6th rounder, coming off injury and no wins as starter. I'm sure it's more agent than Mett. He needs to suck it up and compete.

    Oh I totally agree. That would be my other point....do you think that other teams may notice the "before draft" quotes he made, and compare it to a request like this? Makes the guy look phony....sorry, that is what I would be thinking. At a minimum it would flag a character issue in my evaluation.

    As someone else posted last night...the best way for Mett to clear this up is to whack his agent if he was not involved in it.

    What I think really happened is that the agent called Mett and talked him into this. Mett, being young and impressionable, went along. Mistake IMO, and one that he should clean up sooner rather than later.

    Why would he be mad? Mett was a 6th round pick. Played 6 games without a win. He showed a little promise, but nothing more. Mett doesn't have any leverage at all at this point. If he was smart, he would sit back and develop as much as he can being behind Mariota. Mett still has plenty to improve on.

    He's only one play away.

    Pretty sure the agent wants to secure a payday boys. Zach riding pine is not good for his next contract. Meaning less money fro mr agent. Get him to a team where he can start, that then leads to the possibility of becoming considered somewhat worthy of a quality payday.
