    • "[IMG] San Diego Chargers
April 25 update: I've moved the Chargers up to No. 1 on this list. It's very close with both Cleveland and Philadelphia, but I think it's significant that the Vegas odds of the Chargers picking Marcus Mariota went from +1500 to +250 recently. The same thing happened recently with Jim Harbaugh, where the odds of him going to Michigan shifted dramatically because someone had inside information and bet a lot on that prop.

It's possible that Philip Rivers could intrigue the Titans more than two first-round selections. Rivers would be better for the 2015 season - in other words, he would probably allow everyone to keep their jobs - but he turns 34 in December. Then again, there's no certainty that Tennessee will get anything out of the 12th and 19th picks. Rivers would make the Titans a legitimate playoff contender in the weak AFC.

The Chargers have denied that they've engaged in trade talks involving Rivers, but what else are they supposed to say? Their denial is absolute smoke. Rivers has no interest in playing in Los Angeles; he would rather return close to his home in Tennessee. Former teammate LaDainian Tomlinson echoed this, calling Rivers' reluctance to go to Los Angeles "very valid."

It's pretty close between the Browns and Chargers. It's worth noting that Tony Pauline reported Thursday morning that San Diego could use Cleveland in a three-way trade to move up for Mariota.

    • [IMG] Cleveland Browns
The Browns are currently the favorites to move up for Marcus Mariota. They have plenty of ammunition, which includes the 12th- and 19th-overall selections in the 2015 NFL Draft. Furthermore, Tony Pauline recently posted the following:

"I'm hearing the Cleveland Browns are the front runners and working hardest in the hopes of acquiring Marcus Mariota."

Mike Pettine wouldn't even deny that the team has interest in Mariota. It makes sense; Johnny Manziel was a colossal embarrassment, and Mariota appears to be the polar opposite of last year's first-round pick. Hell will freeze over before Mariota is caught rolling $20s in bathrooms, and that has to delight the Browns, who are "90-percent" done with Manziel, per Chris Mortensen.

    • [IMG] Tennessee Titans
April 27 update: Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean tweeted that he believes that Marcus Mariota is the favorite to be the second-overall pick to the Titans. He also noted that a trade with the Chargers is possible. Other reporters have said that San Diego has had no discussions about moving Philip Rivers, but that could easily be smoke.

Of course, the Titans could just take Mariota themselves. With everyone's jobs on the line - another poor season will spell the end for many in the front office - Tennessee would be crazy to head into the 2015 season with Zach Mettenberger as its starting quarterback. Mettenberger has the physical skill set, but the mental part of his game isn't there yet. He also has had a major problem staying healthy. The Titans simply can't count on him.

There were reports earlier in the offseason about the Titans having no interest in a quarterback at No. 2 overall, but I've heard otherwise; I've kept Mariota at No. 2 in my 2015 NFL Mock Draft this entire time for a reason. Albert Breer echoed this, reporting Wednesday, "I don't think the Titans are sold on Zach Mettenberger and I think they want to come away with a QB in the draft."

If Tennessee doesn't get a trade offer it likes, the front office will have no reservations about just simply selecting Mariota to be its quarterback of the future. "

Yeah I'm thinking its Cleveland or nobody. I don't see the San Diego deal working out but I'm not counting out Philly if a Chip decides to get crazy again last minute prior to the draft.

After the websters comments about 15 players with 1st round talent why would we trade down to 12&19

I don't think we would. Judging by his comments I believe he would want to pick in the top 10 and if he trades out of #2 it would have to include multiple picks this year plus a first in 2016 and 2017. Basically something similar to the RG3 trade. However, I believe that Whisenhunt talking up Mariota was not a smokescreen. KW has a serious man crush on the duck and we will most likely pick him.

    From Peter King's mailbag tonight:

I think Tennessee, Tampa Bay and Jacksonville, three of the first four teams in the second round, all have inquired with late-first-round teams about trading up into the bottom of the first round. I’ll be following that in the hours before the draft.

I think I heard this from a smart GM Wednesday night: “I know everybody’s got Tennessee taking Marcus Mariota, and that’s probably how it goes. But it will not shock me if Cleveland trades the farm to get him at two. [Owner] Jimmy Haslam has to be sick of the merry-go-round at quarterback, and he has to be embarrassed by the Johnny Manziel pick last year. How could he not want a squeaky-clean quarterback like Mariota to lead his franchise?”

everythings pointing cleveland. plus the word is they screwed us by backing out of a deal for 11 at the last minute, literally, so if they are originally interested maybe to save face they make sure this gets done, protect the integrity of their "war room"

I think these are the teams that are probably the front runners to trade up to our spot.

Oakland at 4 moves up for Dante Fowler or LWill.

Redskins at 5 move up for QB. RG3 doesn't fit their system and is full of himself.

Jets at 6 move up for QB. Geno is done and Fitzmagic is a stop gap for Mariota to hold a clipboard. Jets fans will love their new GM who follows up an excellent free agent period with their franchise QB. Go big or go home!!!

Bears at 7 move up for QB. Cutler is starting this season but again, Mariota can learn for a year and then they can get rid of an avg QB making Elite QB money!

Falcons at 8 move up to take Fowler or Beasley or perhaps LWill.

Rams at 10 move up for QB. Foles was not good last year and is on a one year contract. They have a top 10 pick plus an extra 2nd next year in ammo.

Browns at 12 move up for QB. Would be hard for them to pull this trigger after drafting Manziel in rnd 1 last year, with with Johnny Rehab and Gordon, Mariota would bring both stability and leadership to the position.

Eagles - I don't see it unless the Titans get robbed by the Eagles. I know the Eagles want Mariota badly and they SHOULD go big for Mariota for their system but it doesn't sound like the Titans would be too interested in pick 20 and with Mariota, hard to see how a 1st in 2016 or 2017 would be better picks. And it'd be hard to trade a couple of players but it's possible.

I think the Jets, Rams, or Browns are the most likely trade partners but don't totally assume if we draft Mariota that he's automatically gonna stay a Titan. They still could trade him later or in the 18 hours between rnd 1 and rnd 2 starting.

My only concern with the Cleveland trade is them wanting to push Manziel onto us. In the history of the NFL, has a team ever traded a QB after drafting him in the 1st round the previous year and had to add an extra pick to compensate a team for taking on that said QB?

    No, never.
