My point was, people on the forums are valueing the pick WAY higher than the Browns are. Basically everyone thinks the Browns should add an additional 1st to the offer they already turned down.

Why hasn't this trade been a possibility mentioned yet?

3 Team Trade involving Tennessee, San Diego, and Cleveland

San Diego trades Rivers to Cleveland
San Diego trades the #17 pick to Tennessee

Cleveland trades the #12 and #19 pick to Tennessee

Tennessee trades the #2 pick to San Diego

We get the #12, #17, and #19 picks in this years draft in exchange for the number 2

Cleveland gets a QB that can win now and they have the defense in place that can help them make playoffs

San Diego gets a new QB and can start rebuilding pieces around him instead of worrying about re-signing their veterans Weddle and Gates.

Tennessee gets 3 picks inside the top 20, and we can speed up our rebuilding process.

Plus according to the draft chart we get 3,025 and give away 2,600.

I doubt Rivers would want to go to Cleveland....too bad I know but good luck getting him to sign beyond 2015.
And I doubt Cleveland would do that...12 and 19 for Rivers?

If we can't get a decent trade for #2 I think we'll take Mariota. Not that he would be my pick but I don't see them passing a QB to be honest.

First, the key word in your first sentence is SUPPOSEDLY!!! We don't know if it did or didn't happen...yet.

But if there are 3-5 teams interested in trading up, we should get MORE than the trade value chart or at least as much. The Rams got 3 firsts PLUS for dropping 6 spots still inside the top 10. We should get at least 3 firsts (or equivalent) for dropping 10 spots (and OUT of the top 10)!!!

Keep in mind a 1st rnd pick in 2016 is equivalent to a 2nd rnd pick THIS year, one could see the Browns trade as 3 firsts if we get both firsts this year plus their 2nd this year. But that is still short by the value of a 4th rnd pick in terms of value. If they add their 4th rnd pick, I take that deal!!!

Of course, the problem from a flexibility standpoint is, you really are going all in on Mett because then you don't have extra ammo to go up and get a QB next year IF Mett fails. If Mett fails, we are probably set back a couple of years not to mention we'd have to dole out a ransom for a LESSER QB (view atm) for a QB in 2016.

On the other hand, we get an extra 1st, 2nd and 4th rnd pick this year so that could potentially be 3 new starters besides the picks we already have.

Thinking long term, it is why a big trade or taking Mariota this year makes the most sense.

It's all speculation at this point.
I think Mariota has too many unknowns for someone to go all in for him. Admittedly, I've only watched him play a few times... But, I haven't read too many things about him being a sure fire pick that everyone would love to have. Sure there's probably a few teams that will gamble.... But I don't think teams are going to be willing to throw everything they have at the Titans to get Mariota.

Me personally, won't be upset if the Titans take him at 2. I also won't be upset if they trade the pick and don't get 3 firsts+ for it. This team needs players.. Every pick is boom or bust. More likely to get boom with more picks.
