Yeah I know - that deal would be sweet to have 3 picks within the first 33 picks

    We'd have 12, 19, 33, AND 43.

Its a game right now but after TB picks if no other trade offers either we take Mariota or see him go to Cleveland at 3 and Jags get the picks lol

4 picks in the top 45 would certainly help turn this team around

That may be much safer to fall back some, stock pile picks having 4 picks early - chances are hopefully at least 3 of 4 pan out, for example.

Rather than doing nothing, holding tight and drafting Mariota at 2.

If he turns out to be a total bust - that could set this franchise back so far they're may be no hope for years

But other side of the coin if Mariota is the next big thing and emergizes this anemic fan base and small market and puts this franchise back on the map with jersey sales, commercials, endorsements and national TV games could be just what the doctor ordered - Williams would not be able to turn that profit as much as Mariota could no matter if Williams turns out to be the next JJ Watt or not.

Play it safe or Go Big / Go Home?

    Decisions Decisions ...

I think the safe or go big is more of a Mariota vs Williams debate. No one would be upset with that Cleveland trade, after all, winning cures all and the Titans would be in a much better position.

That's cool you went there and started the thread. And I have to say, I think the Chargers fans were surprisingly cordial to you and made some good points. I've ventured into enemy territory like that before and got destroyed just for being a Titans fan (I think it was a Saints forum actually).

But I have to give you a hard time about this. You called our new WR "Bobby Douglas." C'mon TJ. :scorebad:

Considering that Cleveland's 2 firsts and their 2nd are less than the appropriate value (by the value of a 4th rnd pick) is a little underwhelming when you consider you're getting lesser value to drop out of the top 10. We can still get a very good player at #12 but to maximize the value of that pick, you lose positional flexibility. Meaning, best player available may no longer match a big hole (QB, WR, OLB). If the Titans really asked for this I'd be unhappy because you ask for more to start, not less than average value to start. I'll wait to bash until we actually do something stupid as opposed to a some report. But...

There are 3 things I don't like about that as a potential trade. First, it is undervalued. Second, it gives us no ammo to move up for a QB next year if Mett isn't the guy. Third, if we do need a QB next year, currently there is no one projected to be as good as Winston or Mariota in next years draft so if you need a QB, we will have to mortgage the future most likely for a lesser prospect than we can take right now.

It is a main reason in our mock that if we can't get a good trade down deal (at LEAST the right amount of value if not more), I selected Mariota for us.
