lol I would much rather have either Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick at QB than an unproven Mettenberger. They've been to 3 super bowls between them in 3 years. Wilson has been in the NFL 3 full years and been to the Super Bowl in 2/3. Kaepernick has been to the playoffs in 3 out of his 4 seasons and been to the super bowl once!

If he is Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick Jr. why would you not want that?!

No, we already drafted a Guard at #10 and a LT at #11. Next up would be Center at #2. Cameron Erving anyone?:)

If you have a defense that can shut down any opponent and an outstanding running game you only need a serviceable QB.

I dont see the love for Fowler. First, Fowler is almost as big a projection as Mariota. I don't like him as an elite pass rusher off the edge. Put him in a system where you can line him up all over the place then maybe it works out. But a guy with his athleticism got moved all over the place and he still struggled to get to the QB. Enter Dupree. Dupree is bigger and faster and has all the athleticism you look for (Fowler's vert is very troubling). Neither guy was consistent in college (Fowler, Dupree) so why isn't there more love for Dupree?

The first problem is, even if he's our starter, can he make quicker decisions and see the field faster because he is fairly immobile and we currently have a weak OL. That combination got him killed and injured several times. How do you expect he will simply start 16 games? That alone is a BIG IF!!!

But even if you bumped up his attempts to 30/game and kept his avg's the same (being generous) he'd be on pace for about 22 TD's and 19 INT's and between 3800yds. The only thing keeping his QB rating in the low 80's is his yds per attempt which is relatively high at 7.9. His completion percentage is low though at below 60%.

22 TD's vs 19 INT's would not be what we want in a starting QB. Of course that doesn't factor in fumbles lost either. He actually had more turnovers than TD's last season. Not good. Also a problem of a porous OL and an immobile QB who holds the ball too long.
