Rumor Phillip Rivers would "love" to play out his career for the Titans and ex-Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt

That trade is awful. Chargers and the eagles come away great and we lose first and second round pick for an aging qb with 2 or 3 left and has a tendency to throw lots of ints. We would be the joke of the league. Eagles go from 20 to 2 and only give up bradford pick 20 and a third. Worst deal I have seen

 

Getting rooked in a deal for Rivers would absolutely kill the remaining interest I have in this team.

This trade seems legit value for Rivers, but the Eagles are paying very little for the 2nd overall pick. The Eagles are essentially giving up their 1st, 3rd and Sam Bradford for the 2nd overall pick. Of course they are going to make that deal.

The Titans are giving up the no. 2 pick the 33rd pick and receiving Rivers and the Eagles 3rd. A franchise QB is certainly worth that in general, but Rivers will likely be out of the league in 5 years and only has 1 yr remaining in his deal. Though we could franchise tag him, you run the risk of a hold out.

The Titans simply aren't ready to be SB contenders. Rivers would make us a playoff team with our defense, but our OL still needs work and we don't have a legit No. 1 WR or RB. Trading away our 1st two picks kills any chance we have of fixing any of those holes.

If it was only our 1st rounder, and we received the Eagles 2nd rounder and the Eagles had to give up another 2nd to the Chargers in 2016, then I could see this being fair value on all sides.

Chargers get Eagles 1st, Bradford, and Eagles 2nd in 2016.

Eagles get Titans 2nd overall pick

Titans get Rivers and Eagles 2nd rounder this year.

I still wouldn't do this trade, but at least it would be fair all around. I much prefer rolling with Mett rather than dealing the No. 2 overall pick and not getting back multiple first round picks.

 

That deal is a suckers deal. Pass!

 

Rivers, their 2015 1st round, their 2016 first round for our #2 pick.
Anything less, it isnt worth it.
He will only be here for 1 year. When his contract expires he will want way more than his true market value.

 

that would be an awful deal wow..I could get behind #2 for Rivers +17 but would be disappointed at a straight swap of Rivers for #2..

I think Rivers makes us a playoff team, and you never know what could happen when you get into the playoffs (Giants)

 

Get real. No one is trading us a franchise QB plus two first round picks for the No. 2 overall pick. The deal proposed in the article is still incredibly bad for us, and I would be pissed if it went down. But you are fooling yourself if you think we are getting that much back in return for the No. 2 overall pick. The Eagles reportedly shot down Bradford straight up for one of the Browns' 1st rounders. If an oft injured, crappy QB like Bradford is worth a 1st rounder, Rivers is easily worth much, much more than that.

And Rivers is under control longer than 1 season. We would have the option to franchise tag him for 2016 as well.

 

I would struggle to maintain interest at that point, and would lose nearly all interest if Webster is kept after one more mediocre season following this.

Geez....this would be Daniel Snyder level of bad.....
