If a team says "hey id really like to unload my franchise QB. And take this rookie you should think two things...

    1. Maybe they know something we don't about rivers. Let's check his health.

    2. Maybe we ought to double check our evaluation of mariota.

    Or maybe option 3.

They moving to a place said franchise qb has no intentions of ever playing, so get as much as you can for him.

Mariota sux. If San Diego wants to ruin the next few years for that franchise so be it. Its gonna suck for the LA fans expecting this good team to get a mariota led crapfest

I will take Rivers if and only if we are get #17, and #48, and 2016 1st as a start. Points wise on the value chart (know you can't always go by) that only equals up to about almost 1800 points. That is still 800 points difference and I do not value Rivers as a 1st rounder thrown in, especially at his age and the guaranteed contract we would have to sign him. That would just be a start for me. San Diego is not in a position of power so I would just as well draft Mariota myself than just give him away to the Chargers and see them be successful with him. He may fit Wiz system and he may not. He could fit the next coach's system though.

If we don't draft or trade for QB though we will go through this same problem every year. We will say we should draft Williams and then next year we should draft Bosa as these QBs are not worth it. We would be the Rams of the AFC. Good to great D with no O. A spitting image of Fisher's team. Fact of the matter is next year's QB class would be ranked behind the top 2 QBs coming out and considered 2nd and third round talent this year. Why spend a high first round pick drafting for need chasing after QB with 2nd-3rd round talent. That is just like us spending the #2 overall pick on Petty or Hundley, which is possible if we wait to go after QB next year as well.

    3. Why does Rivers want to leave a seemingly playoff built team for a team that went 2-14 last year?

Pretty clear from the information available that Rivers wants out of there more than they want to trade him.
