I don't want this deal. If rather just pick at two.

Ideally, I'd trade with the jets or Browns.

But really... If an Diego believes enough in mariota that they would do this, then we should just pick him ourselves.

I don't understand the reasoning to this move beyond saving our head coach/gm's job.

With all this Winston legal stuff going on it may be s mute point...Mariota goes at 1...the question then becomes do we take Winston or deal with Jets at 6? Or Winston may be the one taking a Aaron Rodgers draft day tumble??

This is a great point and something I've been saying. There are SO many teams that have shown interest in Mariota and that many teams can't be wrong. If that many scouting departments, GM's, and coaches all think he will be successful I don't see how anyone can argue with that.

I heard John McClain say this on the radio this week and it is the best quote about the Titans and Mariota I've heard. He said, "Coaches are a dime a dozen, you can find a coach anywhere. But franchise QBs are hard to find. You shouldn't let a coach dictate whether or not you draft a franchise QB."

I cant see this legal thing getting too much in the way, theres simply too many QB needy teams to let Winston slip through their fingers. If both us and Tampa pass on him (which I believe would be dumb) he'll go to Washington or New York at 5 or 6.

This legal thing isn't news either. It's not like the government is bringing charges against him for criminal acts. Those charges were dropped because of insufficient evidence. This is a civil suit and he's being sued by the alleged victim. IMO, she wanted to wait for a time to file the suit that would hurt him the most and doing it 2 weeks before the draft was the best time to do it. Teams knew this was coming. If they didn't, they need to hire better investigators.

    Well said

plus Greg Hardy was signed, if these things were so bad no way a guy like hardy gets a mega incentive laden contract from the most iconic franchise around..
