If we deal #2 for Rivers straight up that should get both Whiz and Webster instantly fired.

It would be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen us do... and we've obviously done some stupid sh*t on the reg.

Just came across an article saying Chargers would want 2 1st rounders in order to trade Rivers. What are they smoking over there? :stunned:

Of course this is coming from bleacher report. One of many rumors being told.

Another thing that scares me about this trade is the contract. Teams aren't allowed to talk to players/agents if they are under contract with another team, and Rivers wouldn't be a Titan until the trade was finalized on draft night (assuming it's not earlier).

What if Rivers wants WAY too much money or a 7 year deal? What if we can't come to terms with him? We could franchise him for a year and pay him a top 5 salary, but then we're SOL and gave away the #2 pick for 2 years of an aging QB with a bad back.

youd be mad that he'd seek a long term deal? Id think thats a good sign

and to counter anyone saying "well why dont we just wait a year when he becomes a FA", well because then we no longer control his destiny, it becomes his choice of where to go, and you better believe a dozen teams would be at his door calling..

Why? If our reason for doing something this stupid is that he loves Whiz and Whiz loves him and they'll love being together, why wouldn't he come here if we threw money at him? If he wouldn't want to come here on his own and needed us to give away a #2 pick for him, why would he re-sign once we were stupid enough to give away a #2 pick for him?

Rivers probably wants a ring before he retires, we are not the best prospect for delivering this to him.

I think Whiz is a good drawing card...the fact he doesn't want to possibly relocate to LA with chargers tells me he has a short list of where he wants to go....because of family no big cities?....the " close to home" scenario has some weight which limits it further

What other teams could use Rivers next year?
    Tennessee?
New Orleans? Brees done in NO? Is Rivers a good replacement?
    Arizona?
St Louis if Foles doesn't work out?
    Buffalo?
    Cleveland? depending on this draft
