I just hope if we do trade #2 for Rivers that we at least get #17.

Elway led his team to a Super Bowl at age 38 and Marino put up 23 td passes at age 37. Even past their prime those guys could still get the job done just like Brady and Manning.

I think a straight up Rivers for the #2 pick is too steep of a price given the contract we are going to have to sign him to.

If the Chargers truly do want to trade Rivers, that means they are desperate. They know he doesn't want to re-sign.

Knowing the Chargers are desperate, if I was Ruston Webster I would demand Rivers, #17 and a 2016 1st for #2. It's a very steep price (and I would perhaps be willing to bump the 2016 pick to a 2nd or 3rd) but it's what I would demand.

The Titans have the leverage here. Not the Chargers.

That said, I have no doubt Webster will mess it all up.

If we got two first rounders out of the trade, I'd be fine with it.

Trading #2 for Rivers and #17 is idiotic though.

Also getting their 17th overall is toppings, wouldn't complain at all if that were to happen

I agree with this..Rivers is a FA next year...if a reunion with Whiz is something he's good with like everyone thinks then we could probably wait and sign him then. Add some offensive weapons and see what Mett can do this year, if not Rivers has weapons to work with.

I seriously doubt that will happen, simply because I have zero faith in Webster. Arguably the worst GM in the league.

Would be a dream, but I doubt we'd get a 2016 pick also. Doesn't hurt to try though.

I'd give our #2 for Rivers and #17 in a heartbeat, no additional picks required. Yes, Rivers is getting old. Yes, Rivers has a big contract. But we'd most likely be getting 2-3 years of very high level QB play, possibly more. My thing is, we typically blow our 1st round picks anyway. I mean let's just go ahead and call a spade a spade and be frank about that fact. And at least in a deal like this you know what you are getting. So it's basically a trade down 15 spots in exchange for one of the top QBs in the game.... yes, please. And we'd still be able to pick up a very solid prospect at 17... OL, WR maybe.

It's true we probably aren't SB bound in 2015 even with Rivers. But in 2016 and beyond who knows. Fortunes can change in a hurry in this league. Especially with elite QB play. I've always hated Rivers personally, but the dude can play and clearly has an intense passion for the game. He's exactly the kind of guy you want leading your team.
