How bad is Sankey?

Before the draft I thought that Sankey would be a good H-back that could fit into a backfield looking for someone to play a Danny Woodhead/Shane Vereen type back. He is a decent all around back that can run, catch, and block but he is not a between the tackles guy that can slow the game down for you. I think he was overdrafted because he is more of a role player IMO then a feature guy but also because I think NFL teams should concentrate more on building a stable of decent backs with 3-5 round picks rather then go all in on a guy like Hyde/Sankey.

 

Gurley could be on the board at 33 and we would take Yeldon

 

If you look at my favorite rbs from last year, he's nowhere to be found. I was a little mad about it.

 

I'd be fine with taking Gurley or Gordon...whether at 33 or trade back up to get them..Sankey deserves this year to prove himself but if a talent like Gurley or Gordon are there take them..this team needs playmakers and you don't pass on one because we took Sankey last year. Cincy did it with Bernard and Hill.
Its up to the coaches to find ways to use them both

 

The way whiz rotated backs every play in some cases, hard for anyone to find a groove. Plus Whiz does not appear to really want to run the ball. On passing downs he would pull sankey for leon freaking washington, and catching the ball was the selling point of sankey. Coaching staff did sankey not favors last year, or for that matter the entire team.

 

Whiz hates rookies. He let Oher and Levitre both start over Lewan. He kept Huff and Jones as far from the field as possible til injuries forced them to play, hes just a hard ass, really needs to loosen up

 

Don't knock Yeldon cause you don't like Sankey, a Yeldon type is what we need

 

I'm not knocking Yeldon although I don't think he's that special I was just proving a point that Webster would be dumb enough to make a selection like that given the opportunity. You know kinda like how Hyde and Hill were on the board but we chose Sankey. 49ers And the bengals are still laughing at that one.
