    Rivers is a top 10 QB, we won't get the Rams/ Redskins... Deal.. If we get Rivers I'll bet you won't be able to wait for Sunday morning..

    Rivers, he is proven... Winston has never taken an NFL snap or lead a NFL Team.. Plus Winston plays from behind too much..

    Proven what? Dude has never been to the Super Bowl and has played with much better teams than what we currently have.

    He also turns 34 this year. We aren't talking about a Brady/Manning/Farve QB that's going to give us quality years until he's 40. At best he's got 3 somewhat quality years in him (this is, of course, ignoring all of the injuries he's been playing through during his career; with that in mind 3 years is probably optimistic).

    At the end of the day, the question is: How likely is Philip Rivers to win a SB for us? The answer is: Not very likely, so why the **** would we mortgage the future on him?

    Not too much on the trade value chart, just our 2nd overall and our 33rd overall, but people say that's not realistic so who knows....

    How likely is it that any one team wins a super bowl? And you think one of these rookies gives us a better chance?

    Rivers gIves us the best chance whether you like it or not. What he did with wiz with that terrible roster in San Diego is pretty impressive and if they could build on that chemistry here(even if it's only 3 to 4 years) then we could have something special.

    And mortgage our future? we aren't giving up extra future picks. Just exchanging 2 for 17 (where we can still get a stud) and getting a top 6 or 7 qb. How is that mortgaging our future?

    Personally Rivers and 17 isn't enough unless we can guarantee he extends. SD doesn't have much else pick wise to offer, so I think we'll wait and see what Mett does and possibly sign Rivers as FA next year.
