Barksdale visiting Titans

Sign Wisnieski and Barksdale. Wouldn't need to touch O line til 3-5 rounds. Draft a sleeper and use the second rounder on a playmaker. (Not the Justin Hunter undersized 175 pound playmaker either)

 

I agree sign them both we have the cap space and it would take away a lot of holes. Then we can draft the best player in theory but this is webster and the titans, so it is a strong hope.

 

That cap space is reserved for Rivers good sir. Can't use it up.

 

Knowing the Titans, they'll take Mariota at #2 and then a LG at #33, total disappointment.

 

Doubtful for two reasons.

1. He has an agent who most likely wasn't on a honeymoon.

2. Deliberately waiting to get back from honeymoon as a reason not to sign/get involved would have cost him millions.

 

Eh, probably right. Regardless - he shouldn't leave tomorrow without a contract.

 

This would be a damn nice signing. Wouldn't mind Wis the C either.

 

How good is Barksdale? Where does he rank as far as Tackles?

 

That's not true at all... I mean maybe he was on his Honeymoon, but I doubt that.

Either way, the Rams and Titans are the only two teams showing any interest. No one else has been in contact with him as far as I know.

I'd much rather get Wisniewski and draft a RT by round 2.

Wouldn't be mad with Barksdale, but the fact that virtually no teams are interested is probably pretty telling.

 

Okay this is what I can gather from the interweb....

Barksdale was a back up in St Louis until he replaced an injured player at the start of the 2013 season. He made the most of it and never relinquished the role ranking as PFFs 8th best tackle in the NFL of the year.

Last year he exploded out of the box and was the #1 PFF ranked tackle in the entire league through week 10 and was considered a likely choice for the Pro Bowl.

Then something happened and his production "fell off a cliff" resulting in a negative grade for the second half of the season.

Not sure what it was but the guy cleary has potential to be a beast. Sign him!
