    Chip Kelley part wouldn't happen.

But in all seriousness, I'm not happy with the whiz system.

The future and even present, of football is the spread.

Big immobile pocket qbs are too rare. You need to adapt your plan to the players available.

Seattle, San Francisco, new England, green Bay... All use some version of a spread frequently.

I'd like to see us get with the times.

Do you honestly think we improved enough offensively AND defensively to allow mariota to succeed? Our defense will be average at best this year, we barely touched our offense and throwing a spread QB who likes to run into Whizs offense of pocket passers is gunna ruin that kids career. I am sick of watching a terrible titans team **** up draft picks every year. Take the best defensive prospect, draft a WR and let mett go to work. Mariota wont bring us to victory with that awful supporting cast

Bingo. Spot on. I've been preaching this for a while now. We can go ahead and go through the pros and cons of taking Mariota or not, that's what forums do, but no one is putting themselves in the shoes of Webster/Whisenhunt (at least realistically).

Yeah Whiz has a 5 year contract but that gets thrown out the window when you go 2-14, the GM that hired you is sitting on a seat hotter than yours and ownership is a mess. Once that's resolved, the Titans will have a new GM and this a new HC unless something positive happens. So what are they going to do?

Draft Leonard Williams and bank on our defense carrying the load? You know the same defense that invested a lot of money into an injury prone OLB, another OLB that we're hoping breaks out, a ILB who missed basically all of last year, and a couple minor upgrades at SS and CB.

Or you can go get a QB who is better than Zach Mettenberger and can actually be your franchise player, generate a bit more excitement, who knows win a couple more games maybe, and has a much better shot at saving your job for another year while you attempt to continue to add pieces.

Rebuilding a team is so much easier with a QB and it solves so many problems.

Yea... I've been thinking this way for at least a couple months now.

Don't want it to happen, but I think it is very, very likely that we will take Mariota unless we are able to trade back.

guys,,,marota seriously buys whiz 0 more time...think about it...

yall say mariota buys whiz one more year after this...and another 2014 season wont cut it., well everyone forgets how decimated we were by injury toward the end of the season, and our floor is honestly 5 wins. i bet we end up near .500 unless we go and draft the duck.

if we draft mariota and whiz fails with him which is the most likely outcome then will whioz ever get another chance to be a head coach? no..if we stick with mett and go .500 he has a much better shot at a future hc job. also what really buys whiz job security is putting the best team on the field this year...and mariota at qb will not be the best team he can field.

only person whos in danger of getting fired this year is webster...theyll give whiz that third year with a new gm.

say we draft mariota, whiz and webster get canned after next year, now you severely limit your options with a qb like mariota,,,

drafting mariota is a lose lose situation. best chance for whiz and webster to win is to stay true to themselves and what they do, let mett throw the ball around the field in a way mariota could only dream of. if youre gonna go down go down sticking to your guns, not being pressured to pick a gimmick qb you totally have to reinvent your offense for.

ahem....so much easier with a good qb. does anyone think colin kaepernick can come in next year and win with this team?? because best case scenario mariota can be close to kaepernick.

mariota is NOT a better quarterback than mettenberger, hes a better athlete, not a better qb,

rebuilding is easier with a GOOD qb...

im still accepting bets.....ill even raise the stakes, ill bet my name. if mariota gets picked by us ill let you name me, if not i get to rename you. any takers???? we sure have a lot of people who seem so sure mariotas gonna be good and a titan. bet me or stfu

Not necessarily... and they don't have to truly believe in him to draft him.

Might just be a Hail Mary draft pick.

This is probably Webster's last chance to be a GM in the NFL... He could take Mariota and just hope the dude pans out. If he pans out, Webster secures his job for years and looks like a genius.

If Mariota doesn't pan out (which is likely), Webster looks like the fool that he already is.

Webster can't lose by drafting Mariota.

the next time you try and prove your point, you leave a bleacher report.

    straight bush league.

and nothing you provided was a mock draft, not a god damn thing.
