Rolling Stones at LP Field

I've seen The Stones a few times over the years.
They playing Fla in maybe 83. Van Halen opened up for them but The Stones were incredibly stiff, coked-up for lack of a better term and it wasn't great.

Saw them in the early 90's (Steel Wheels I think - when Living Color was touring with them) and they were better. I assume Mick had kicked the coke at that point.

Last time was maybe 2000 and it was an indoors show and they were just fantastic. They played mostly old, oddball Mick-Taylor era stuff and that will be the show I recall most. This was also around the time the industry moved away from automatically pushing The Stones anytime a new record came out. Welcome to the boy band era - yuck..

Mick looked 70 years old then. I just can't imagine it would be anything but sad to see them now. Granted, if you want to hear these classics one last time by the guys that originated them - this would the time to go..

 

He must be watching Hopesfail.

 

Apparently they did these for all the NFL teams that are hosting a tour stop..

He's going to sing Brown Sugar with the band..
