I'll take trade back a few picks, take white or Cooper. Gurley or Gordon at 33.

We need a damn weapon or three!

I just put a Sportsbook wager up on whether or not the Titans will trade out and who they'll take.

Franchise is in a precarious position. It has been so poorly managed over the past 8 years, this franchise has a dearth of talent, is irrelevant in a competitive sense and fan interest and excitement is at a breakpoint IMO. Busting on 2 consecutive high picks for a franchise QB will do that to a team. Missing on other early round picks insures a team gets in a situation this one is.

The real decision presented in the choices is do you go LONG TERM or IMMEDIATE benefit. Everyone knows it would be in the best interest from a long term competitive standpoint to build through the draft. But that will take another 3 years at a minimum to get all the pieces on board and "trained" in a system. Many fans, at those who are buying season tix, no longer want to "throw good money after bad". So there is a need for some IMMEDIATE excitement to get the franchise through this low point.

I chose trading down but that is really only the BEST choice if two things occur. The first is a good deal, with at least 2 first round picks and an additional 1 or 2 second round picks. Maybe an immediate player of use. And the second thing that must occur is to have a GM and/or talent evaluation team/process that is markedly better than what we've had putting us here. I'm flabbergasted that Ruston Webster has survived. (Lake Dawson was the "fall guy"). I honestly don't think Webster has the skills necessary to properly evaluate talent. And I also doubt he has the negotiating skills to work the most favorable trade scenario available. So a trade is the right choice IMO with the overall BEST impact on the health of the franchise. But our owner has made a poor choice retaining Webster therefore I don't think it will have the impact it should.

I agree Leonard Williams is the player that would have the most immediate and palpable impact for the team. He is the safest bet and with a poorly skilled talent evaluator LW is a "no-brainer" low risk moderate reward decision. But the ceiling is lower with him for overall benefit to the team.

Same for Mariota, only he has real value in helping obtain the other key components to stabilizing our talent platform. I don't project mar iota to be anything more than serviceable. Not a game-changer. His leadership skills don't translate well into the NFL platform.

The most interesting choice for a poll would have been who in the Front office should be replaced. Tommy chose to dump McLachlan and Dawson. I have little doubt he chose poorly.

Please, sell your tickets so I don't have to read this repetitive doom and gloom about the state of the franchise and why you won't throw good money after bad anymore!

My money is on us making a trade that's either epic and we f'ck it up 0r simply a bizarre trade no no other GM in their right mind would have agreed to.

    Really? Example?

Let me clarify... This thread is about drafting mariota, Williams, or trading down. It's not about choosing to or to not renew season tickets, or whether or not Webster is competent, or the current state of the franchise. I just don't understand why riverfakefan has to repeat those subjects in every post....

Here I'll try to get us back on topic. River whiner said Williams ceiling is low. Why? I don't see him as having a low ceiling, I see potential of elite defensive lineman for a long stretch so I'm curious how one would determine now that his ceiling is low

Don't read it. I quit reading your "if you aint wit' you agin' us " drivel a long time ago.

A better result to shutting me up would be to fix the damn franchise. I have been an ardent $upporter since it's been here. And the proof is in the pudding. This franchise is a mess. And I believe I know why. Like I said- don't read it if bothers you.

No- I didn't say "Williams ceiling is low". I said that his ceiling was "lower" and was a low risk decision with moderate reward. A difference in the other choices. And the gist of my post was that each choice has unique merits and drawbacks dependent upon what the "goal" should be.

I think you are so "reactionary" a lot of that was lost on your first reading.
