We'd need good rbs for a smash mouth run game though! Cheers!

Even though we really don't know what's going on, there seems to be a lot of heat for Mariota over the past week. If these rumors keep getting pumped out and the interest continues to spike then we should be in a very nice position to trade back. If teams cool off and believe we won't take Mariota, cool, we'll just take Mariota.

I was thinking the same thing, I wouldn't be shocked if we picked White/Cooper at #2. Would love that then Eddie Goldman or Jordan Phillips at #33.

For some reason I think our 2nd round pick is where we go RT.

I like Goldman and Phillips ok, but I don't think DT is that big of a need for us right now. Just read recently that they really like their depth there with SLH, Jones, and Woods.

I like David Cobb the best and could probably be had in the 4th. Perfect complement to Sankey. Great at getting the tough yards and running between the tackles.

We definitely need a smash mouth runner. I would like to add a #1 receiver so we can get some mis-match coverage issues going, to make the run game better. That way they don't stack the box. I say we just cut Leon, DMC, and Greene. Roll with Sankey, Andrews, a FA and Rookies.

Honestly at this point I am almost 100% on the Marcus Mariota bandwagon. Marcus Mariota has the potential to be the top QB in the NFL and has the arm strength, accuracy, and mentality that you look for in a franchise QB and (imo) has the highest ceiling of any player in this draft class. Jamis Winston is a turn over machine and Leonard Williams does not have the same burst off the snap of the ball the Suh and Watt have; they will both be good players but I think that both of them are near their ceilings and will never be a top 5 player at their respective positions.

I also think that Mariota would have a greater impact on the relevancy of the Tennessee Titans then our other options would. The Tennessee Titans are the least interesting teams in the NFL and after a decade of mediocrity it is hard to argue why it happened. We are a team with no national interest (and very little local interest from the sound of it) and no true face since Steve McNair was exiled. Mariota would give us a player for people to talk about and would help to put us back in the national conversation. His jersey would instantly be one of the biggest sellers for Titans merchandisers and we would finally have a player we could build some form of marketing campaign around. While all of the is second to his ability to win football games it would help us to reinvigorate the local fan base and give us a the appearance of having direction which is something our franchise has lack since the early 2000's.

Mariota is not without his flees and a lot of pundits and draftniks have questioned his ability to run a pro style offense from under center and while those maybe legitimate concerns they were also the same concerns many had about Cam Newton, Vince Young, and Robert Griffin III. Newton is a stud and one of the top young QB's in the NFL and while Young and Griffin have had work ethic and entitlement issues (both of which Mariota is clear of) they have both had success on the field in the NFL.

Another reason I have seen on this board to skip over Mariota is the he does not fit into Whisenhunt's scheme while Zach Mettenberger showed some kind of small glittering of potential in Whiz' offense. Whisenhunt is a sub 500 coach whose only claim to fame is leading one team to a Superbowl loss with a borderline HoF QB. If for any reason that sounds familiar it is because it is almost word for word the terms I would use to describe Jeff Fisher, and Jeff Fisher is not worth passing on a franchise QB. Also his prototypical QB, Zach Mettenberger, is a Alex Smith type QB, a guy who might get you some wins but never over the hump. So when you say that we should pass on a potential franchise player because of Whisenhunt/Mettenberger switch their names out with Fisher/Smith and see if that sentence sill make sense to you.

In short I believe that the opportunity to draft a legitimate franchise QB is to rare to pass up and if there is even a 30% chance that Mariota is that guy then he has to be the pick.

    Do not over think it.
    Draft the flyin' Hawaiian.
    **** it and duck it

    Marcus Mariota 2015.
