Rumor Titans interested in Trent Richardson

Not really. The NFL has reached an era where carrying 2 quality backs is basically a necessity. Titans have potentially 1 quality back. They need another one, and not just a 3rd down scat back.

 

Plus, if Green is sent packing he needs to be replaced and that might not be Andrews.

 

Greene should have been sent packing for Richardson, Maybe we look at Rice? Another motivated back who would be cheap and great at short yardage & goal line?

 

I agree with you guys that you can use two quality backs these days. However I still think it kinda makes you look stupid to use two consecutive second round picks on them when you have so many other holes to fill. We are not the Bengals. They were way more of a complete team when they made the Hill pick than the Titans are right now. I just don't feel we have that luxury.

 

The Sankey pick was another goof in our drafting. He's a character guy and I think he'll contribute. He's not a "game-changer". Reach pick IMO- parallels the Locker pick characteristic of Webster.

 

The only backs i'd take at #33 is Gordon or Gurley.

Would be basically the exact same thing the Bengals just did.

They took Gio Bernard in the 2nd round and (even though he showed way more as a rookie than Sankey) decided he's not a foundation back. Then took Jeremy Hill in the 2nd one year later.

Worked out pretty well for the Bengals and the Titans surely know that.

I think RB is very much in play for the Titans in the 2nd and 3rd round this year.

 

Like I said though, we ain't the Bengals. They had a stout defense, a franchise QB, a #1 WR, etc. We have none of those things.

FWIW I personally am not necessarily opposed to it. I just don't see Webster going that direction because I think it makes him look dumb. Sankey was supposedly the "best back in the draft" and the "best fit for what we want to do".
