Just because I know everyone is not going to read this

Da'Norris Searcy was quietly one of the best safeties in free agency after a strong year with one of the league's best defenses in Buffalo. He gives the Titans a player that will fly around and make hits, allowing Michael Griffin to back up to a true free safety role. Everyone who has watched the Titans know that if Griffin is asked to do too much all of his production suffers, but if you put him with a very good strong safety he is vastly improved.

    Griffin sucks!!!

    /brings in Pollard

Griffin is alright now!! Pollard made a man out of him!!!

    /Pollard injured for the year

    Griffin sucks again!!!!

    Next season...

Searcy taught Griffin how to be a man again!!!!!

This is why he has not been cut.

Let's be clear, the ONLY time Griffin has ever been good, Fat Al was the most dominant defensive player in the league, so good in fact that he made three guys in our secondary pro-bowlers.

Griffin didn't make plays, he was the recipient of playmakers around him.

Griffin still and will always suck, cut your hair!

He was actually a 3 time Pro Bowler with the last in 2013. That's the good. If we get 2013 Orakpo I'll be thrilled. But there are 2 major risks with him. First is that he gets injured and then he's not on the field and neither is our $8mil. The second risk is that in 7 games in 2014, he had like 1 sack. If we get that kind of production for 16 games and Karl Klug has as many sacks, we have a major problem!

So there is definite upside, but also significant risk. Also keep in mind he had Kerrigan opposite him who also is a double digit sack guy. Can he and Morgan have that kind of synergy? I HOPE so, but it's far from a realistic expectation at this point.

First, I like Searcy but I'm concerned he came from one of the best defenses in the NFL with a heck of a front line getting pressure all the time. Makes a secondary player's job a LOT easier. Searcy is one of the best signings we've made in free agency. I just hope he's as good as advertized and not a product of the other standout players on that D.

Griffin is a mediocre S at best being paid like a Pro Bowler. They aren't going to cut him for the same reason they won't cut Levitre...it makes Webster look bad. If Webster really knew what he was doing, HE would be the one to change the culture here by getting rid of overpaid players that can be replaced at half the cost and setting WINNING as our goal!

Pollard covered up a lot of Griffin's mistakes like whiffing on a tackle. When Pollard wasn't there and Griff whiffed, the rb's tended to go a LONG way!!!

I don't care if you put Griff in deep CF, he makes very few plays and misses a ton of tackles. To be fair he actually played one game last year like he was a Pro Bowl S and made almost every tackle and he did come back and play hurt with the season a total loss. I'll give him props for that! Unfortunately, he played a lot of games in which he looked like a mediocre FS who doesn't tackle very well. Did I mention he's making over $6mil a yr?

This is what I would have done.

Re-signed LS Brinkley, P Kern, PK Succop, DL Klug, OLB DMorgan
    Signed WR/KR JFord

Attempted to sign FS DMcCourty, RT BBulaga but we'll assume I failed.

Signed CB DRevis $16mil cap hit (offered him possible $16mil to be earned and higher overall in backend)
Signed LG MIupati $6.7mil cap hit
    Signed JHarrison $500k cap hit
Signed NT DWilliams $8mil cap hit
Signed OLB BOrakpo $4.4mil cap hit
Trade 5th rndr to Jets for WR BMarshall $7.7mil cap hit

    Cut now
    OG Levitre (replaced by Iupati)
FS Griffin (replaced by Huff atm)
    NT SLH (replaced by DWilliams)
TE Stevens (replaced by TT atm)
    OLB Wimbley (replaced by Harrison)
RB Greene (replaced by Andrews atm)
    ILM Woodyard (replaced by ZB)

    current cap space $8-10 mil.

Current roster going into the draft
    QB Mett, CW
    RB Sankey, McCluster, Andrews
    LT Lewan, Meredith
    LG Iupati,
    OC Scwenke, Ikard
    RG Warmack
    RT _________, Meredith
    WR Marshall, KWright, McCluster, Hunter
    TE Walker, TThompson

    RDE Casey, Klug, MMartin
    NT DWilliams, AWoods
    LDE Roptuitua, DJones
    LOLB Morgan, Harrison
    LILB ZBrown, Gooden
    RILB Williamson
    ROLB Orakpo, Harrison
CB Revis, McCourty, BWW, Sensabaugh, Wooten, Huff
    FS Huff, Wooten
    SS Searcy, Stafford

    LS Brinkley
    P Kern
    PK Succop
    KR Ford
    PR McCluster

Biggest hole left is RT, depth at OL, OLB, ILB, TE, and possibly starting FS. Notice only 2 starting spots are 'open' but Huff should have a good shot to hold that position.

Love how you assume the players will just "sign" with the Titans. Doesn't work like that. You don't take into account what the player actually wants or is looking for. Revis was either going back to NE or going back home to the Jets. There was no chance of him ever coming here.

This would be an amazing fa period. But did we really miss on the guys we didn't get or did we not have a chance at all to actually get them here? I think we did good with what we had to work with. We filled hole with the best bang for buck players that were available on d. O is another story, i think they want to go heavy on o in the draft is why.

Bang...Agreed. I am telling you, very likely they go QB at two, trade back, or at least go offense. Especially since the FA period heavy on D. I don't care what the mock drafts say to be honest.
