I agree, and if professional sports teams become the PC police, say goodby to a ton of players in the NFL and NBA. He's cleared to play, and wife has given him a chance of her own volition. Unlike the kid in the AP situation, and he'll land somewhere with a big paycheck.

Rice is a proven back, I would take him and dump every back we currently have to get him.

The last full season Ray Rice played for the Ravens, Bernard Pierce was easily better than him. Ray Rice was falling off fast when the ish hit the fan with his legal trouble. No thanks.

Definitely. After about a full season away from football, it will be a real surprise if he can return to 2012 form. RBs have such a short career span. Have one bad year, and one suspended year... There goes 1/4 of your career... And he tended to be on the back end of his career when it happened.

    He's toast, most likely.

From a legal stand point, I think it's ridiculous no one is giving him shot. He has not been charged with anything. Not one single thing. Rice should have the opportunity to compete for spot. The court of public opinion should not have a bearing on whether he is allowed to play or not. I mean Ray Lewis basically murdered a guy, or at the very least was an accessory to murder. And he played another 13 more years in the league as a media darling.

From a personal standpoint, I hope he never plays football again. What he did was despicable. And he SHOULD be in jail. I feel the same about Ray Lewis. Actually, I find Lewis even more despicable. These guys should have been in jail, and they would be if they weren't rich and famous.

Edit: I guess he was charged. I was thinking the charges were dropped after his gf/wife refused to press charges.

I believe he was charged and plead down to a lesser charge and got some sort of counseling program and probation.

It doesn't matter if his wife forgives him or not, that is between them. You establish a standard of what is and isn't allowed in the NFL, teams allowing this guy in sets the notation forward that it is 'okay' to abuse your wife as long as she forgives you afterwards.

I thought the charges were dropped.
