    Morgan and Orakpo..
Sacks aren't everything. Qb hits and pressures are a good thing. Being disruptive to what the QB is trying to do is the goal. If they can get the sack, great. If not, you disrupt them. Hit them. Throw them off their game. There's not a single player in the league that sacks the QB every time.

"All purpose yards" is also a good indication of a good player. Yards are yards. A player that can move the ball by different means (run, catch,PR,KR) is a good thing. The name of the game is to score. First you have to move the ball. Why would you make that sound like its a stupid stat?

    Lol.

I just had something from Tennessee Titans Facebook run across my feed. It was a quote from Derrick Morgan.

"I want to finish what I started."

Dude's the worst finisher ever. We're doomed.

1st off.. How are QB pressures even tallied? It's a BS Stat because its impossible to define. you get it for just being near the QB? A sack is a real, unquestionable measurement of success.

I wish they would have tallied "pressures" when I was in high school. I had that Derrick Morgan disorder where I was always there right as the QB was getting rid of the ball. Did I expect praise for that? No. Because the job is to get to the QB and get a sack. Looks like I retroactively deserve an all state bid from the 2002-2003 seasons. Lol.

Pressures have got to be a matter of opinion. And a "hit." WTF is that? Hits the QB but doesn't or can't bring him down? Nothing to celebrate there. Makes him somewhat of a pest, not a legitimate threat for a sack or a forced fumble.

All purpose yards are crap, because KR/PR yards are not yards from scrimmage. They are used for career underachievers like Reggie Bush, to make them look respectable. Nobody cares how many yards someone has on punt returns for the season. To tally them up with the tough yards is intellectually dishonest. Yards that are earned, show the value of a player, and maybe average of punt return yardage. But the seldom used APY stat is total poppycock.

You only see the APY stat when people are trying to overblow the value of the player. And the good pass rushers, the "hurries" and "hits" stats are footnotes on their stats, not the headlines.

I've got no problem with the thought that Morgan is a worthy roster addition. I do have a problem with skewed statistics to try to polish a turd.

Stats can be cherrypicked, combined, and turned this way or that, to make any OK player seem great, with enough stipulations. The honestly good players, the numbers speak for themselves. The numbers that matter have him ranked in the 40s in the sack department. Which is probably accurate. Right in the middle, average. Not outstanding.

The 2 sack Jags game boosted him into the top 50.

This is not even really about Derrick Morgan, it's about how low our expectations have become, as fans. This idea that being "almost there" is worthy of anything more than a tiny bit of praise, it'd be laughable for fans of teams that have had a legitimately good pass rusher or two.

    BUMP.

Have always been a Morgan fan. Dude showed out today.

I know, I know, it was against a horrible OL, but Morgan has been super solid this year.

    Was good last year too.

Morgan has always been better than anyone cares to admit, the trouble was always he was our only edge rusher, and it takes 2 so now that we have 2its more obvious that he's a quality player

As long as Orakpo stays healthy on the other side it'll allow Morgan to shine
