This FA period is getting to me more than it should. FA is where we can fix the holes and set us up for the draft but we have basically done nothing while other teams make their moves. The jets here in NY made quite a bit of moves, brandon marshall, fitzy (better than what we have currently) and revis. I would say the jets may even turn it around. What do we have???? NOTHING! There is so much lack of talent on this team it is ridiculous! How does webster still have a job .... don't know.

Delanie Walker wasn't a huge get in '13. I don't recall anyone here throwing a lot of praise towards Webster at the time. It looked like he was filling a hole left by Cook.

Walker was a 28-year old guy who hadn't had over 350 yards receiving in his career and had a rep for having the dropsies. Now, he's a face of the franchise who almost had 900 yards receiving last season.

That's the kind of player Webster has to go out and find now. Now is the time for Webster to get players who have upside and fit what Whiz wants to do so they thrive here.

This isn't a praise Webster post as Walker has been the exception. All I'm saying is that the second and third-tier players who we see signed next week and beyond can end up having more impact than those guys taken the first days of free agency.

Aren't the Jets also close on Cromartie?

A lot of experts say the draft is where you make the team, but we have so many misses with high picks that we have no choice but the roll the dice on FA who are playmakers. We seem to only target above average, bandaid type players.

Our team has way too many needs to try and use the draft as the major solution; we should have had at least 2-3 strong signings at this stage in the game. When you are this bad, like the Jets were as well, you have to take chances and roll the dice.

While I agree with your post and I know you are not praising webster, it is hard to just sit back and watch these players left and right go to teams that are trying to make adjustments. No one can blame anyone for trying but we are NOT! I think it is also asking a lot of a 2nd or 3rd tier player to play beyond his capabilities. ( see Jake Locker as example) Webster can't judge talent as it is anyways! You can't risk those players being good either especially when the competition all around us seems to be getting tougher. The jags brought in a pro bowl TE and the colts now have Gore and Andre Johnson. This is going to be a bad season if things keep up like this.

yes the jets are close on Cromartie! Lucky for us we get to play them here in NY. ( I live on Long Island so I listen to a lot of sports talk radio here on the NY Teams) They may have a pick off machine in fitzy but if they sign cromartie and have revis then they may have 2 great CB's that will help them win some games. I want to go to that game too here in NY but I just don't know. It is an embarrassing time to be a titans fan.

Would you be excited if the Titans brought in Fitzpatrick? That's the standard for some of you? I'd rip up my season ticket renewal letter, burn it, video tape it turning to ashes and post it on this site if the Titans signed him.

What makes anyone think the Titans didn't go for Revis or Marshall? Can you blame either for preferring New York over Nashville? Not getting doesn't mean not trying.

These guys toward the end of their career are after the money. They sure as hell didn't choose the Jets because they think that team is going to win the Superbowl in the next 2 years.

NYC's cost of living and income tax is ridiculous.

I believe we've put out offers or at least we have shown interest...unfortunately the interest isn't mutual....start winning and FA's will come....need to have a good draft and no reason we can't with the draft position we have...that falls on the FO and scouts, stop reaching and find football players!
