You mean the angels gave him $300k for... nothing at all? Wow, so there is at least one pro franchise even stupider than the titans!

Both Scarecrow and Riverman have valid points. However, no one could have predicted the injury issues would have been as extensive as they were with Locker. But, the accuracy issues were well documented. Locker was a risky pick at #8 and he didn't pan out. I think of his failure much differently than say VY, because I believe Locker did try 100% and was not an immature head case. But, in the final analysis, he was a bad pick. Being a bad pick does not translate to personal hatred for the player as some have expressed in the forum. Anyone can feel anyway they choose and certainly can express those feelings. But, some of the less mature expressions are going to draw criticism. And to clarify, I am not calling anyone out with that statement, it is a general statement on my part and not directed at a specific individual.

I think some people here know I didn't like this guy and I was negative a lot since he got drafted but I will say this.....we picked locker at 8 so it was our stupid fault to pick him, a much big thanks to Webster and Munchak for that stupid decision! Didn't really care for this guy to much because his production and consistency was just way to low so I am happy he is gone. Enjoy life and stay safe off the football field!

I agree that both viewpoints are valid. I, unlike a lot of folks on this board, do not fancy myself an armchair scout, and I generally do not engage in much of the offseason evaluations of college and free agent prospects. That said, I, along with a bunch of people on this board if memory serves, was less than enthusiastic about the potential of drafting Locker in 2011. I really did not think that any of the prospects at the time warranted a top 10 pick, and, with the possible exception of Cam Newton, I believe that this position has been shown to be largely correct.

However, along with many others, I was impressed with Locker's demeanor and attitude after he was drafted, and although I was not supportive of the pick when it occurred, I was supportive of the player and truly wanted him to succeed.

Whether due to bad luck or bad genes, Locker just did not pan out. I am disappointed about this and agree with Riverman that our franchise has been badly hurt by our challenges with drafting QBs (I was admittedly, and mistakenly, 100% behind the VY pick back in 2006 btw). However, I do not hold a grudge against Locker for this. I am glad that this chapter is now closed and am ready to move forward at this point.

My only hope is that we remember this when faced with another choice on drafting a nice guy who is marginal at best as a top 10 QB prospect. Everyone makes mistakes....making them multiple times is unacceptable.

Honestly, I don't even really care all that much to be honest.

I'm telling you @Riverman, you let the Titans go, and everything gets easier. I think I watched 4 Titan games last year, you really start to start to see how bad the game in general has gotten.

Only really got this far because I was bored at work. If it wasn't for me having fun insulting certain people here, and calling @Big TT a racist for no reason, I would probably not even be posting here.

Ditto, I sold my PSL's before last season, I had them since day one in memphis btw, now I watch as just a casual fan. Truthfully, I don't like many of the rule changes the NFL have done...QB protection rules, limitation of Cb's ability to have tight cover, ect. Getting hard to have the passion I once did for the game...of course having a team to cheer for that actually made you care would help.

It is practically impossible to be a good team with an average QB, hell even above average.

When the league places that much importance on ONE player, and has countless vague rules helping that player, it takes away from the game.

Football, as it stands right now, is a bad sport. On top of all the scandals, fabrication, and favoritism, I might as well just watch the WWE.

Exactly the same here. I watch more than 4 on TV, only because my dad and buddy want to go watch games at the sports bar. I end up watching other games, anyway. Gotitans and my friend are the only reason I care, even slightly.

As everyone can see, there is very little value left in the franchise left to cling to. Stepping back from ESPN and the hype shows the NFL to not be as fun as it used to be, for sure. But I've talked about that already, til I'm blue in the face.
