    Bulaga didn't hit the open market because no one during the negotiating period offered him enough more than the Pack to not re-sign with his team. We say several players make that decision (like McCourty). Teams let them get to the 3 day negotiation so they could see what they were worth and then some players hit FA and others re-signed. Did the Titans offer Bulaga 7mil/yr or 9mil/yr...we don't know. We do know we havent heard a lot about the titans pursuing players they should have pursued. Should the titans have signed Suh or Revis? maybe...maybe not. But they should have more than kicked the tires. The key to big contracts is the structure, not the final big numbers. Suh nor Revis will make it through those contracts and it looks like Revis contract is probably more likely a 3 yr deal in which he will get $16mil per yr avg.

    And you can bet we will drastically overpay on pass rushers now. And are we pursuing a RT when we currently have none? This is why things are falling apart from OUR end. Not because guys didn't choose us. We didn't choose them!

    You do not know what sort of conversations Webster has had with agents. Webster is not going to come out and announce that he talked with Bulaga's agent who said that Bulaga would never play for the Titans. Should we have offered Bulaga LT money to play RT for us?

    It would be nice if we choose them but it doesn't work that way. In FA the player is the one who decides where he wants to play.

    Cobb and Bulaga could have made much more money on the open market, but decided to stay with a well run winning organization instead of chase the mighty dollar.

    I think they should at least talk with Jake Long. I still think he has about three years left in the tank and could help the tackle position.

    First, I'd expect to have heard the Titans were going after Bulaga or had shown interest in him. I don't even know if they even talked to Bulaga or not. You don't reveal why player X didn't come to your team, but fans want to know your are trying!!! Don't tell fans you are gonna be very active with a ton of cap room and then crickets.

    What do you think LT money is?

    And what I mean by choosing the player is, if we never made Bulaga an offer, how can he choose us? If we don't make an offer to these players, they can't come here and we have shown no interest in them. Ultimately, it is the player's choice ONLY if you show the interest first. I'm not seeing Webster showing a lot of interest in the top 50 free agents.

    Wouldn't we have to pay him LT money?

    I don't think he will command all that much money. Plus if you can play LT you can make the switch RT much more easier then the other way around.

    Do you think the FO just sat around with a thumb in their ass? Webster said he had talked to at least 12 agents, many who represent multiple players. I guess because Jim Wyatt didn't report every phone call, then that means the Titans arent even trying to sign players.

    This is their job! Do you really think they sit there and don't try to make their team better? Has Webster made some bad moves? Yes! But not because he's sabotaging the team...but because he's making moves that he thinks will help, but often haven't.

    On top of that, I'm sure it's a hard sell when your team won 2 games and hasn't sniffed the playoffs since 08. Only a few players are going to entertain offers from the Titans, much less sign with them.

    But, I guess the Titans didn't even pick up the phone today. :sarcasm:

    Day one of our aggressive free agency assault in the books.

    Thought I'd poll how everyone is feeling about the Titans right now using DEFCON levels. Defcon 5 being everything is cool to Defcon 1 Titans offseason hypothetical nuclear meltdown imminent.
    :reaction::runhills: :stfu:

    Personally I'm at Defcon 2. I think we whiffed on several guys, are doing little to nothing to make ourselves significantly better, and without bringing in Hardy and Orapko, I think we're up 2-15 straits again. If we strike out I see don't see any other option than trading back, accumulating picks and trying to add talent to this dismal roster... I wish it weren't so rough being a titans fan right now.
