I haven't watched a lot of boxing because the match ups have been boring.

Same goes for MMA. If its not a big name card, I'm not going to waste money to watch.

As far as boxing, Mayweather is a technical fighter. People that just want to see a KO every fight shouldn't watch his fights. I enjoy to watch someone be great. Hate the man or not, he is a great boxer.

Same with MMA. It annoys the **** out of me when people say a fight is boring because they weren't standing up throwing punches the whole fight. I enjoy knockouts, but give me a good wrestling match or a jiu-jitsu match and im going to enjoy it just as much

as far as Pac-Man, he put together like 4 really good fights some years back and everyone jumped on his bandwagon. He was never on Mayweathers level

yeah. So boring watching pure artistry in the form of fighting.

That's like saying you think basketball is boring because they're doing things other than dunking.

I think basketball is boring because it's not hockey :)

I don't like synchronized swimming either and that's pure artistry also, not something I think iof as entertaining either. I watched the Alvarez fight. I knew it would be a decision fight even though one was trying to swing for the fences and end it while the other just wants to survive until the end with a couple of jabs here and there. That's their style which will be very similar to what this next one will be.

    Alvarez fight was not entertaining...

    Depends on what you like.

I'd much rather see a technical fighter understand how to fight than some idiot flailing about hoping for a KO.

I agree with depends on what you like, although we don't really have to even question there's more technical aspects to MMA than boxing...

Just ask James Toney who didn't even last 1 round and tapped out (his opponent was 47). After that he went back to boxing and continued to win. 76 boxing wins isn't a small feat, he was a champion also.

Don't mean to derail thread, so I'm calling a 12 round decision win for Mayweather.

Im not going to compare boxing and MMA because im a fan of both, But if you take some of the best stand up boxing background MMA fighters and look at their pro boxing records, not really all that good.

So yea MMA has more technical aspects because you have to account for more, but it doesn't make it a more technical sport. They are 2 different animals.

Let me know how many MMA fighters can go box and do well. Works both ways... actually better in favor of boxers going MMA though.
