I still need to see Birdman, Boyhood, Whiplash, and Nightcrawler.

I think I've seen just about everything else I'd want to.

    Nightcrawler was excellent.

Yeah I really recommend this movie. Reminded me a lot of American Psycho. I enjoyed that the ending was good, and I really had no idea what direction they were going to go with it, one of the few times in recent movie watching I actually felt on the edge of my seat.

Taxi Driver homage all the way. So much stuff about JG's character was straight out of the Travis Bickle school.
Someone told me it was a movie about the character Nightcrawler from XMen so I avoided it for a while..

Has anyone seen Jake's previous movie Enemy?
Definitely something there for fans of Cronenberg.
I plan on watching Maps to The Stars this weekend. Looks pretty cool.

I didn't think Bickle as I was watching it but can definitely see the similarities now that you mention it.

Ok, I saw the trio of Birdman, Nightcrawler and Whiplash - and Whiplash, holy mother of god is by far the best of these. How this did not win best picture is a travesty.
Good ole' Vern Schillinger aka JK Simmons just knocks it out of the park.
This film was INTENSE and that was just seeing it on TV. Wish I had seen this in the theater..

Literally what I said after seeing it. It was like an American Psycho feel but with a sports car and camera. They are both now two of my favorite movies.

Loved Birdman and Nightcrawler and you could honestly just save yourself 3 hours and not watch Boyhood. Still need to see Whiplash ugh

watched I Am Legend a couple of days ago

I know movies like this don't typically win awards but I thought Smith was excellent. Even with having his daughter play his daughter. I did not read the book, if there was one, but I watch most movies in this genre. Smith's motivation for staying is dubious but whatever... just a movie.

opening scene I was like 'Oh No!' no way that pooch makes it. The Old Yeller scene was brutal
