Why would they miss him? Cook is a better RB!

This off season is so important. This may be optimism/homer-ism, but with the right off season I believe we would make playoffs next year.

Agreed, I just have little faith our front office will see that vision and just shoot for mediocrity...it's an upgrade over 2-14, right?

Frankly, we can build the team to where we will know if Sankey can run and Mett can be our franchise QB. If they can, we can make the playoffs. But to build that team, we can't have anymore Levitre/Oher/Greene/Phillips/Wimbley/etc misses!

One of the best reasons to go for the absolute best players is I don't have to worry about Webster making a mistake nor our coaching staff having to 'coach' em up!

I have little faith in our front office as well. But this off-season is HUGE, could literally change the next 5+ years for our franchise. We're at rock bottom, lets just hope we don't stay here.

We're lacking an identity. That's our biggest issue. My belief is when you're excellent at one thing, your weaknesses don't hurt you as much. We need an identity, we use to have the toughness of McNair/Eddie w/ that nasty D. Everybody knew exactly what the Titans were going to do to you and we dared you to try and stop it. The Seahawks have the elite secondary, the Pats/Packers/Broncos will pass it all over you, the Ravens/Steelers always have had the smashmouth D... we need an identity, bad.

Hopefully we go for the nasty D approach.

Like you, I'm in favor of our identity starting with our D ala Pitt D's of their prime. Plus, building a dominant D is the best friend to a struggling offense and young qb's!

The problem is...most of our problems lead back to our HC. Our identity was supposed to be a mismatch/creative offense that will keep defenses off-balance and adjust week to week depending on the opponent. We signed an offensive 'guru' as a HC, not a defensive minded guy so you know what we were expecting! But let's face it, Whiz has only been successful with pass first offenses...with big time wr's in arizona and a combo of wr/te in SD. Our TE got it done, but we couldn't throw and we couldn't block on offense...so our identity is ineptitude. We couldn't coach anyone up. Walker was probably the only guy on offense who was better. Our entire wr corp, ol, rb and qb units struggled or got worse than before whiz was here. Our identity is that we have NO OFFENSE!!!

And let's think, we had a 1st rnd pick at QB (Locker), RG (Warmack), LT (Lewan), RT (Oher - Ravens), WR (Wright) plus 2nd rnd picks at RB (Sankey), LG (Levitre - Bills), WR (Hunter), with a 4th rnd at C (Schwenke) and 6th rnd (Delanie Walker). Keep in mind levitre was the highest paid guard in the offseason a couple years ago and Oher was the 3rd highest paid OT last season. And this group produced about the worst offense in the league. How many of these guys got better and how many got worse this year? That is on the coaching staff/gameplan/playcalling/in-gameadjustments.

We are not nearly as bad on D as people think except whereas we have no real pass rusher and nothing to write home about at LB...which should be a strength of our D. I have a lot more faith in Horton than Whiz which is sad to say. Give Horton some LB's or a Leonard Williams and I like our D's chances more than our offense.

It is for the above I think we need to grab some free agents that can do it themselves and MUST fix the OL as we have be shown to be lacking in adjusting to our own strengths and weaknesses. Give me a 'special' pass rusher and a few other top end pieces and then draft well and then we can at least have HOPE!!! At least before we go back to relying on gameplanning/playcalling/ingameadjustments/etc.

Why not Griff, Levitre, Greene, Wimbley, Woodyard, etc?

Why sign Hasselbeck (we already have a vet backup who knows our system) and why in the heck would Reggie Wayne want to come here?

How are we getting this 2nd 1st rnd pick and still be able to get both LW and Fowler?

Is Devin gonna play CB opposite Jason while Stafford plays SS? So we sign a Pro Bowl S (McCourty) to play CB and staf with our highly over paid and mediocre FS? Nate Washington and Wayne would be our starting WR's and the only improvement to our OL is Roos at RT?

While I don't like this, I'm concerned Webster won't be able to do much better!!!

My last go before Free Agency hits, and my dreams are crushed.

This Mock is my dream offseason.

    Cuts

Pollard, Stevens, Wimbley, Sammie Lee Hill

    Resign

    Morgan 5y/38m

    Nate Washington 1y/3m

    Harris 2y/3m

    Klug 2y/4m

    Stingily 3y/5m

    Succop

    Brinkley

    Kern

We would have around 34m left for free agency after draft picks.

Ndamukong Suh 6'4 305lbs DE 6y/115m(i.e more than anyone else)

As the days pass, a long term deal with the Lions seems unlikely. He already tipped his hat that his agent will seek the most money for him. I think we should throw the Kitchen sink at him, we are all sick of these medicore to poor FA signings. Suh with a little help will help take this franchise to the playoffs. Very expensive but we should go for it.

    Kendrick Ellis 6'4 346lbs NT 3y/12m

Just as important is a monsterous NT. I have always like Ellis and he would be an nice option for 1st and 2nd down and will help us stuff the run. Cheaper than Raji and Williams. He has a better chance to play here than at the Jets. With Daquan Jones replacing SLH, we have great depth on the Dline.

    Mark Ingram 5'9 215lbs RB 4y/20m

My favourite RB in FA, somone we can feed the ball too 15-20 a game. I think he is fresh and ready to go, no long term injury worries and still young enough. Shrewd signing.

    James Harrison 6'0 275lbs OLB 1y/2m

We have a need depth at OLB and with his ties to LeBeau, its almost a sure thing that he is here next year.

    Troy Polamalu 5'10 207lbs SS 2y/5m

Same thing here, when he gets cut, he'll be here. Dont feel comfortable naming Staford the starter outright, so Troy and him will split time

    Titans trade #2 to Oakland for #4 and #35 and a 2016 4th rounder. Oakland wants L.Williams

    1.(6) Randy Gregory OLB Nebraska 6'6 240lbs

    [IMG]2. Dorial Green-Beckham WR Oklahoma 6'6 237lbs
    [IMG]
    2. Cameron Erving RT Florida State

    3. Doran Grant CB Ohio State 5'11 200lbs
    [IMG]
    4. Josue Matias OG Florida State 6'3 305lbs
    [IMG]

    5. Taiwan Jones MLB Michigan State 6'3 245lbs
    6. Wes Saxton TE South Alabama 6'3 248lbs
    6. Sean Mannion QB Oregon State 6'6 229lbs

Why cut SLH? He's not making THAT much and is a solid player. I don't know if Daquan can play NT and if he can't, we'll need both SLH and KE.

I would not bring Morgan back for more than $7mil on a 5 yr contract. I like signing Wash but don't think he'll come back for one year. David Harris is not coming here for $1.5mil a year. Klug will be looking for at least $4mil per year! Stingily will want more money too.

The problem with this free agent concept is that it addresses NONE of our 3 Major needs. Are you suggesting this is all you think we can get or what you HOPE we get? 3 of your signings would backup with possibly Ellis starting.

The most problematic thing with signing these free agents is that you guarantee your trade in the draft doesn't work. Why would Oakland trade up with us to get Leonard Williams when they KNOW we will not take him with Suh and Casey playing DE?

So after your free agency, we still have 2 holes on the OL, no dominant pass rusher at OLB and no #1 WR. Not loving it!

Gregory is probably my least fav of the EDGE rushers. He's overhyped and like Dupree, disappears a lot. I don't like taking boom or bust players in rnd 1, let alone in the top 10!!!

Then you add another boom or bust guy but for a different reason...character. Value-wise this isn't a bad pick. He could become a superstar vs the risk he's a headcase.

I really like Erving - probably my fav OL in the draft (in terms of I really hope we get him!).

    I like Grant a lot.

    Matias is ok.

Im not a big fan of Taiwan Jones and think we can do better there.

Saxton is another player that is probably solid value wise but I hve other players I like.

I don't wanna see us draft a QB in rnd 6. For what purpose? He's not gonna start this year. If Mett stinks or gets hurt, it'll be CW all the way for the rest of the year then we go QB in rnd 1 next year...in which case he's not starting either. And I dont want Mannion as our sole backup in either year. So no thanks. I think the Titans could do this, I just think it is bad strategy.
