Cleveland has signed Josh McCown for 3yr deal. Will this impact possible trade?

I don't think it will affect us. All we need is the perception that 2 teams are really wanting either of the QBs because that should be enough to force someone to trade up with us.

McCown is obviously not the long term answer. We knew they would sign a vet QB because they couldn't go into the season with Manziel and a rookie. So now they have their vet and the question remains is Manziel your franchise guy or do you use your 2 first rnd picks and move up to get Mariota who your new QB coach has helped tutor.

The connection of Mariota to the QB coach and Mariota to Chip Kelly is going to keep speculation alive until draft day.

I am a little surprised they signed him to a 3 year deal. But, it seems they believe he is better than Hoyer.

The next pot to stir- is Hoyer better than Whitehurst?

McCown is absolutely horrible, just another sign of how utterly retarded the Browns organization really is.

Without question I take Hoyer over Whitehurst....Also, the Browns are horrible for that 3 year deal.

Hoyer is alright, Whitehurst is meh, neither belong on this roster if we're trying to win games

I guess the better question regarding Hoyer -is he a better back-up option than Whitehurst? I hope no one would think he would be our starter.

I couldn't agree more....But their is no question I'd rather have Hoyer as a backup.

If anyone thinks that Hoyer should come here and start, they should be publicly stoned. Lol

Hoyer isn't exactly what you want, hes very similar to Jake Locker, just doesn't fit in with what Whiz is trying to do. It's hard to say this but we're better off keeping Whitehurst as a backup.:anon:
