It's interesting that you chose a pic of BWW a for the Pass Interference debate, I'm sure it was really hard to find a pic of McCourty within 6 yards of a WR when the ball was arriving.

I still think BWW can be really special, damn shoulder surgery!

15 yard penalty is the way it should be..

Take more of the game out of the refs' hands. They can hand a team points with a bad PI call.

The more they can let the guys play the game, the more likely I am to consider myself a fan again. They've ruined it.

This can create a loophole though.. if it's a end of game situation, on a hail mary attempt, the defenders can mug the WRs, and only get 15 yard penalty.

Anything that keeps Baltimore from advancing next year is good to me. Its funny Baltimore has designed plays where the goal is to draw a foul, yet they'll cry and whine when New England get a Super bowl birth.

I think he stands a chance because he has good ball skills, but his bone headed penalties will cost him that chance next year.

I am torn on this one ...

On the one hand, refs already call a lot of 'ticky tac' PI penalties giving the O a big advantage on the deep balls. And these bad calls can absolutely change the outcome of the game.

However, if they make it a 15 yard penalty, then there really is nothing to stop the D from blatant PI whenever they are beat deep past 15 yards ... It could get very ugly. Rather than having 'ticky tac' calls on the O, we will see a lot of DBs just mauling receivers on deep routes if they aren't in good position. They will draw the flag, and they won't care (neither will the coaches). It would actually be considered a 'good play' from the D perspective. The way it is now, there really is no incentive for the DB to commit PI on purpose, change the rule and there will be.

For the sake of the game, I think it should stay how it is ... for the sake of the Titans, I hope that it changes (Our CBs suck, so they need every advantage they can get ... not like our WRs are catching a lot of passes past 15 yards anyway)

That was the first thing that popped into my head.

Honestly, I say keep it the way it is. Refs are going to make terrible calls and ruin games regardless.

what if pass interference has different levels? 5-yarder, 10-yarder, 15-yarder, blatant PI spot of the foul? Too much?

I love this idea actually. I like the spot of the foul penalty when, like at the end of a game on a hail mary it would keep the defense from just tackling every receiver.

Then again, I've always hated the rule that the DB has to turn around to face the ball or it's interference (hasn't this been changed before?). I go back to our game in 2010 I think it was, at home against Denver. We had the lead and Orton threw a pass in the endzone and Chris Hope didn't turn around in the endzone and that ended up being a 50 yard penalty with Denver going on to score the winning TD and the game from there. I don't think any penalty should be worth 50 yards, no matter how blatant.

Do we really want referees determining intent and what's "blatant" though? I don't.
