I have had my sights set on a PS4 here for the past few months, but lately I have heard good things about the Wii U.

Anyone have experience with some or all of these. I figured they have been out long enough that any issues would have surfaced. The RRoD is the reason I will NOT buy an Xbox, I went through 4 360s, and Microsoft will not get any more of my money via console.

Same here. They lost me forever as a customer with that mess. It wasn't the RRoD itself but how they handled it and how piss poor their customer service was. It was made abundantly clear to me in my dealings with them that they cared very little about me as a customer.

I think I'm gonna get a Wii U in the near future. They've quietly built a pretty stellar library and of course if you want their exclusives then you have no choice.

PS4 would be nice but I still am just having a hard time justifying the price tag considering the amount of time I actually spend gaming these days. And I'm still more than happy with my PS3's performance/graphics.

Ok let me lead off by saying in the past Ive burned through three XBOX 360's and one XBOX1, Im now on my 2nd XBOX1 in 6 months. I can tell you first hand Microsoft spits out whatever they want just to keep up with Sony/Nintendo, then at a later date will tweak things accordingly. So beware. But by now its safe to say they've cleaned up their act and the new XBOX is a safe purchase at $350.

Also, Wii U's dont play DVD's/Blue Rays, XBOX1 does.

You can get a blu-ray/DVD player for about $30 these days so that shouldn't be a huge factor in the equation.

I have an xb1. It's cool. My sister has a wii u and loves it. But I question its long term value. After getting over the rrod, my 360 was good for me for about a decade, and still going strong. Not sure if WiiU will still be putting out games in 2025.

Never played ps4, I've just been playing Xbox since the last playstation I owned was the PS2.

I only play for NHL, and a few other games anyway, I wouldn't hardly notice the difference.

Every 4 or so years the next thing comes out, if your counting on a WiiU to be of any value in 2025, youre kidding yourself. Whats a gameboy worth these days?

What is cool about Nintendo tho is they allow it so you can get old Nintendo consoles on the new one. For $8 I was able to play Super Mario bros from the 80's-90's, didn't have to re-buy SNES

This is the only real reservation I have. I remember when I got the original Wii it was great for about a month but then it just sat there collecting dust.

The U already has a lot of games I'm interested in though. Add in the old school virtual console games and I tend to think there's plenty of entertainment value there.

I have an Xbox One and a Wii U.

I use the Xbox One to watch TV and Blu-Ray.

I use the Wii U to play video games (and watch Netflix, the touch pad is very nice for navigating Netflix).

Wii U has hands down the best library of any of the three consoles and is only going to continue to get better (Splatoon, new Zelda, new Star Fox, Xenoblade Chronicles X).

So, if you want something to play great games, get a Wii U. If you want something to do general entertainment things, decide whether or not you want Halo and go from there (though to be fair, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, and Dead Rising 3 were all pretty good).

It also depends on what kind of games you like to play.

I very rarely play video games anymore but when i do its usually sports games. so Wii U would never get touched.

If you are into those type of Nintendo games, than obviously go Wii U.

    I have a Wii U and a PS4.

I got the Wii U first because of Mario Kart and the other legacy games(Mario franchises, Super Smash Bros and Donkey Kong).

I got the PS4 about two months ago. Seems like the library is still lacking a bit. I'm not a big FPS guy, so I pretty much stick to CoD when I hear good things about it. The last Madden wasn't unplayable like it usually is.

I'd buy both of them again, but I can see myself playing the Wii U more this year than the PS4.
