Morgan a priority in FA

I agree that Worilds is a slight upgrade over Morgan.. I'd like to sign both. Replacing Morgan with Worilds is pretty much a sideways move. It may slightly improve us, but we don't need slight improvements, we need massive improvements. Sign both!

 

Bringing reality into it.

 

Letting Morgan go will be a big mistake. There is no way we could replace him for less than 7m a yr in the fa period. With that said he is worth 7m. He didn't look 7m good last year but our team was horrible. With a better supporting cast he can and will be a good role player in our d. We need to add someone opposite of him of course, but get some pressure off of him and casey, the d gets better instantly.

I think just drafting one impact player (williams @2 or ray/fowler w/ trade), would make our d considerably better. Not to mention the 4-6 other holes we have to fill on that side of the ball.

 

A role player should not be getting 7mil a year unless it is an incentive laden contract that gets him to the 7mil mark

 

And when has Morgan ever been a role player? A starter his entire career.

 

By role player i meant "not a game changer". He's not a pro bowl type guy, but can play his role in the d. He is definitely a starter, just not elite quality.

 

This is exactly how I feel. Plus, somebody is going to offer him too much.

He didn't play better in a 3-4, he was just as average.

The guy isntba drama queen, he will say just about anything to not ruffle any feathers.

Paying a guy 7mil a year for moderate play is how bad teams stay bad.

 

Besides Casey he was our only deruptive force in the backfield. He played pretty good in a transitional year. Like nick said, he would look a whole lot better with a supporting cast. Look at Ayers when he went to NE......there are other folks that need to go on our defense before Morgan does.
