Pre-draft stuff can't be taken too literal, GM's put out all kinds of spin on things to make people speculate this and that.

Agree. I like how they are handling these things thus far. Let everybody hear we are bent on having a QB while publicizing Mett has been involved in all discussions. Nice presentation to intimate we'll take QB.

The problem is that we have SO many holes to fill. A trade seems like the best option if you want to improve the team as a whole. One thing is certain though, they need to add depth at QB and Whiz needs to sharpen his plan/play calling.

Oh I agree that parlaying the #2 spot for more picks is the best option. But to do that, we need to convince other QB needy teams we're going to take QB (Mariota). Otherwise, they'd be smarter to work trade with Redskins or Raiders.

Or, it could mean they know they need to fix the OL so the QB they already have can last 16 games.

Time of posession has been terrible the past couple years. D not getting off the field and the O not getting first downs. Well drafting what could be an elite D talent can help one side, and fixing the OL so our QB is getting crushed after 2.5s and our RB can actually get back to the LOS helps the other. Mett has an arm, is actually accurate, but gets hit far too soon. Sankey getting jacked up in the back field.

If teams continue to run the ball down our throat, how good will the QB taken at #2 be on the sidelines?

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Seahwaks won last year, best D in football. They made it back, and should have 2-peated if not for a terrible terrible call. Why were the Pats Superbowl favs at the beginning of the year and won? Because they actually fixed their D. Brady alone couldn't get them back to the SB the previous years, and they lost the previous 2 because their D wasn't good enough.

Trade back is ideal. Use the top pick on the best pass rusher available. Fix the LB core, get a CB/FS/SS, fix the OL and get a WR. I don't care which is settled through FA and which the draft, but QB isn't the end all be all. This roster blows everywhere.

Purely as a fan, I have no honest idea what we will do and nothing would surprise me. I can't imagine there are too many GMs that feel we have specifically chosen a position/player or decided we will trade down. Unless there is a rat that has leaked inside information...

Otherwise nothing would really surprise me too much at this point as far as QB or DL/OLB or OT or trade down. Amari Cooper would shock me and even though I like him in the right role, I certainly don't want us to take him at #2.

I want Brett Hundley. Not sure where he'll be taken but I think he's been a damn good QB at UCLA. I'm guessing in the 2nd-3rd round range.

If we do take Winston or Mariota my biggest hope is that they are given a real shot to compete with Mett for the starting job. Because I hate the philosophy of taking a QB in the 1st if you don't believe he can play from day 1.

I agree completely. I just really want us to trade that pick. I'm in the camp that there isn't anybody worth (to us anyway) the #2 overall pick. I'd love to trade with the Browns or Rams and net another 2nd round this year, 1st and 2nd round next year, (and more- preferably BOTH of Browns 1st this year) or the early picks this year of the Eagles plus early round(s) next year (which I'd hope we work into trading up in the 2nd or late 1st with the picks.

I just like how we are handling right now. Intimating that we are seriously looking at QB.

I would go Mariota but knowing Whiz and the Titans we'll go Leonard Williams, which isn't bad either.

The Titans will have a tough time trying to anger me during the draft this year.

Amen. I am just glad we aren't drafting above the top ten in the middle of the pack this year. People should be more worried about Whiz and Co and their utilization of players, play calling, as well as how they do in the FA market.
