LOL! What is 4.61 speed? Don't let one bad run tell you the opposite of what you already know. Wright is fast. The combine has lots of issues and one of them is their 'electronic' timed runs...which really aren't. But I won't get into a whole thing about the combine.

Suffice it to say Wright ran one of his 40's at the combine at 4.49. He ran as fast as 4.41 on one of his 40's at his pro day. Futher evidence of this is the fact that he beat Cobb in vertical jump (38+ to 33), broad jump, 3 cone drill and 20yd shuttle. Also, he doesn't run like a 4.60 on film...neither in college nor in the NFL.

I'd say Wright is in the mid to high 4.4's. Cobb is probably a tad faster...low to mid 4.4's. Cobb has longer arms and bigger hands. Wright is more athletic and quicker. They are similar in height and weight.

Even bigger is how they are used in their offense, not just who is throwing them the ball. This is what concerns me MOST about Whiz. He claimed he was gonna take advantage of mismatches...and then didn't! Watching the Giants dismantle us with Beckham should have showed him what he was SUPPOSED to be doing!!!

I've watched plenty of Wright and Cobb. Cobb plays much faster than Wright does. He can actually run away and past defenders after the catch. Wright can not and that is why he is always trying to juke guys and falling on his butt. Their is a major difference between being quick and being fast. Cobb is faster than Wright and that is what we need on our team is a guy who pressures the defense deep. Cobb has averaged over 14 ypc in 3 of his 4 yrs in the league. Wright's highest ypc was 12.5 which happened this yr. You can argue that Wright isn't ask to run the deep routes and that is why his average is lower, but my contention is that Wright is being ask to do what he does best and that is run underneath routes like Wes Welker. Create separation in short areas.

Cobb is more of a big play receiver than Wright.

Do I want Cobb at 10 mil a yr??? No but to say him and Wright are the same guy is wrong in my opinion.

In regards to JPP, You certainly have to fully vet his back issues, but he is a guy who actually has shown the ability to be an impact player. A guy that QBs have to worry about. He is a young pass rusher and that is what we are in need of. His price won't be sky high because of his injury concerns. I have no doubt that JPP can make the switch to OLBer in a 3-4. I actually think he could excel in that role. I would have no problem giving him a decent contract that is incentive laden to get him to a top level contract.

I would rather pay JPP 7mil a year than Derrick Morgan 5mil a yr.

How do people feel about replacing Pollard/Wilson with Brandon Meriweather? Reports say Skins wont be re-signing him, and he does match what Pollard brings with the big hits.

Just suspect of him having the same problems as Pollard with stupid penalties.

This. I'm not saying Cobb isn't good. He's just not worth what it would cost to attain him, at least on this roster.

To the ypc thing, who's throwing you the ball is going to have a huge impact on that, same with yac. Rodgers vs Locker/CBJ/Mett, which receiver do you think would have the better stats? I'd bet that Wright would have just as good of stats as Cobb if he was on the Packers.

Sure the qb makes some difference, but you can't blame wrights low ypc just on the qbs he has played with because Nate Washington has averaged over 15ypc each of the last 3 yrs. so if wright were such a deep threat why haven't we used him that way? I say wright is not a deep threat and I ask for those who say he is to prove it.
