I actually wanted Keith, but was fine with Horton. Wasn't going to complain with either one.

Whiz and Horton have gotten a lot of hate, but I still point the finger on the guys who built the mess these poor guys walked into.

Fisher, Reinfeldt, Munchak, and Webster.

Not ready to throw all the blame on Whiz and the coaching staff yet. They do deserve some of the blame obviously, and if we are anywhere near as bad as last year, Whiz and co will be gone.

 

Hard to blame Munch when he had this squad looking like they had potential.

So you would rather a coaching staff run a vanilla gameplan and win 5-9 games every year, but never have a real shot at a sb? The fisher style gameplan munch and co is perfect for mediocre seasons.

Whiz either wanted to go to the playoffs or tank for a high pick. We know what happened. I would rather have a top 3 pick than be picking around 10 and still be out of the playoffs. This staff may be bad, but they can't be judged on one year.

Bold prediction, titans win at least 8 games this year and are in the playoff hunt all season.

 

You are right....that is bold given where the team is right now. I want to see what we do in the next 2-3 months before going there.

That said, regardless of offseason moves, I am fearful about Whis's gameday coaching. Last season he looked horrific on gameday IMO, on issues ranging from silly challenges to questionable at best personnel decisions (why the short leash on Sankey, why the extreme limitation on McCluster's playing time after paying big bucks for him, etc.), not to mention some pretty questionable play calling. Talent helps, but cannot completely mitigate this issue IMO. Hopefully this was an aberration.

 

Munchak stuck to the game plan and changed nothing. We were a team built more for a 4-3... Had we switched to a 3-4 with Munch, the results would've been similar.

Also, add in the fact that Munch had Hasselbeck and Fitzpatrick (who was better than what we had last year).

Whiz and co took over and changed everything, for better or for worse.

Not uncommon for teams to get much worse the first year a new coach comes in. I'm not expecting much any time soon, but it's not like we were going anywhere with Munch either.

We had to get rid of all this Oiler/Titan loyalty BS.

Whiz and his staff may be horrible, but there is no way I would take Munch and his staff over what we have now.

 

One team was competitive and lost 7 (think... can't recall exact count) games by 1 score...

The other team was embarrassed pretty much every week.

... and that was with a better roster.





This isn't hard. Munchak may not have been a great coach- but he was leagues beyond Whizenhunt- who is probably league worst.

I'll take this staff over the last in a flash. They're changing things, there's growing pains. We need to show significant improvement next year. Win 6 games at least.

I blame Reinfeldt mainly.. Webster deserves blame for some BAD FA decisions, but his drafts have been pretty solid. Reinfeldt had AWFUL drafts

 

We'll see this year, whiz will have a much better record this year.

Idc if we lose by 14 or 1. A loss is a loss, any way you slice it. Munch was not even close to being a good hc. He is a great football mind and great oline coach, but a hc, no.
