Schefter concedes that "many NFL executives and scouts believe Florida State's Jameis Winston is the best pro quarterback prospect in this draft." But perhaps the Bucs and new OC Dirk Koetter see things differently, placing more stock in Mariota's mobility and clean off-field resume. More likely, there's just a lot of speculation out there right now with the draft still three months away. We're skeptical the Bucs have come close to making up their mind yet.

Nobody reporting things in January knows anything, its always speculation, but in the event it happens to be true Id be thrilled being left with Winston. I dont care at all about the off the field stuff.

So to get Philly to trade the task will be selling the fact we are taking Mariota or someone else is interested in #2.
TB could just being doing what we should be doing, does Mariota fit their system?
Glennon had some decent games, still not great but had some success for the Bucs.
Can we say that about our QB's?

Not bad. I like all of it. My only issue with it is I think it's a little early to take Erving and don't think McKinney will be there that late. He could go 1st round since he's the top rated ILB.

You're the only other person on this board that has mentioned us taking Ekpre-Olomu besides myself. Would be a huge value there.

Browns 2nd rounder would be #43, not #47 (my error). Erving will be scooped up by either the Broncos or Pats in late Rd.1. I'm an MSU grad myself and I'd love for McKinney to fall to us in the 2nd. If the Packers don't take him late in the 1st I could see him slide a bit. He would definitely be great value @43.

As for the OL, if the draft fell this way, I see this as our starting line-up:
    • LT - Lewan
    • LG - Mason/Erving
    • C - Schwenke/Erving
    • RG - Warmack
    • RT - Bulaga (FA addition)
That's an OL I can appreciate! Erving would serve multiple roles and give us a lot of flexibility if there is an injury. Assuming Shaq Mason wins the LG spot, Erving would push Schwenke to probably be the starting center. At worst he would be an awesome swing tackle to have and really be the 6th man we need.

I seriously doubt the Browns are giving up on Manziel after a year. Would be perfect though.

The thinking at the time was that CJ could turn around with a better OL ... with the history CJ had at the time (2000 yard season etc). And considering he was really the only play maker we had in the last several years I think it was worth the risk to see if he could turn it around.

Cook was always making mistakes and got way too much money from the Rams ... Glad we didn't resign him (we replaced him with Walker who is better anyway)

Ayers was more on the coaching staff IMO ... he wasn't getting any playing time anyway (for whatever reason). He wasn't making a contribution to the Titans when he was traded

Verner ... you have a point there.
