Yes we are just like Oakland. You can not build teams any longer by draft picks it starts with off season signings. I am not saying go out and sign big name free agents but at least sign free agents that can help your team while your draft pics are learning the system.

I agree with drafting Cooper which would free up Kendell Wright to do what he does best. We have had so many draft bust starting with picking Pac man over Devin Hester that it will take some time to rebuild this team. A lot of fans are wanting Winston drafted but do we really need his character issues on our team and I am still not sold on him after watching him this season.

Very nice thought process and I really liked the trade down idea but if we do trade down then we need to really consider going after a down the field receiver to take some pressure off of the offensive line. I want to keep Griffin and only because he has had to over play his position because of our corner backs which put him out of position a lot of times.

What is everyone obsession with Mike Iupati? He'll be an upgrade over Levitre in the run game. However, he's terrible against the pass. Don't remember the exact number and can't find it again but he was top 5 for sacks given up by interior lineman. He gave up more sacks then Levitre.

Iupati isnt a major player I care to acquire, and youre right about him being suspect vs the pass. 7 sacks 2 QB hits and 22 hurries.

Levitre vs the pass? 6 sacks, 1 QB hit, and 21 hurries.

Vs the pass they're the same player, but vs the run its a whole other ball game. Iupati is a mauler when he gets going. Levitre is a fineness player all around, solid at most things but great at nothing.

Iupati is going to demand a high contract, is the run game improvment really worth it? Especially, when Whiz likes to throw the ball. Better options for less IMO.

Levitre blows. Iupati graded as one of the top run blocking guards, thats a upgrade.

As I said before, If we are rolling with Mett, build the defense and get a good running game. Make Mett manage the game.

I'm looking at young guys like

James Carpenter, G, Seahawks .5 sacks allowed 8 penalities
Clint Boling, G, Cincy 2.5 sacks allowed 3 penalities
Ron Leary ,G, Cowboys 3 sacks allowed 4 penalities

All young lineman that would come cheap. Came from dominating ground games and have allowed few sacks in their careers. Cut Levitre and replace (insert name from above) for a cheaper option. Or draft a mid-round guard.

I would even look at brining a better center in and let Schwenke try out at guard.

Iupati is about as good as you can find run blocking, but we dont run! LOL

Whisenhunt is a pass first coach, we need strong pass blockers.
