Im not. As mentioned, Snyder paid DOUBLE what he should...but only moved up from 6 to 2...4 spots. If we trade down to the Jets for instance, we should get half of that....which would be their 1st and 2nd this year and their 1st next year...minimum!

Keep in mind, Cleveland, Buffalo, Rams, Jets are not loving their QB situation and not a whole lot of choices....which means demand!

Neither Carr nor Mett are surefire starters, but Mett had a higher completion % and a higher yards per attempt, and a better QB rating. Carr had a better TD to INT ratio but you'd also expect a better one consider how low his yards per attempt were (5.5).

If Musgrave is in Oakland to install a West Coast Offense, Carr is the guy. But he IS capable of installing Chip Kelly's offense too which would put Mariota on their radar if that is a consideration. Remember, the 49ers drafted Kap while running a West Coast offense with Alex Smith only to switch to a college zone read for Kap.

And as mentioned, a mid 70's QB rating doesn't assure you of anything. Taking a quick look, Carr played well (NFL starter level) in 5 out of his 10 starts. Mett played starter well in 4 of his 6 starts. Both sample sizes are small but certainly comparable players at this point.

People fantasize about an illusion. Winston was at his WORST (and take a look at his INT #'s if you don't know what I'm talking about) with pressure. Neither would do well with the current OL...ask our 3 QB's who all were beaten into submission. Winston had the cleanest pocket in all of college football so to think he will magically come in here, toss tacklers off his shoulders while he acts like Big Ben in year 6?

If we fix the OL (not a given certainty with this GM), Mett would have a chance. And I think the Bucs will take Winston.

Carr has shown flashes...but we could have said that about Locker too...and we know how well that worked out. Carr is not a guaranteed long term NFL starter at this point. And Neither is Mett.

Mett didn't win a single game as a starter. If you think he's the guy to bring this franchise back to prominence than you're as drunk as the front office on draft day.

    Sorry.

I'm saying I don't know if Mett is or isn't. What I do know is that no one has a chance behind our current OL! Not Mett, not Winston, not Mariota. They would all get hurt!

Winning doesn't happen just because a QB plays well or not. If it did, brady and Manning should have had several undefeated seasons...and yet they don't. Even Hall of Fame QB's can play well and still lose.

In 2 of Mett's losses we gave up over 40 points to the other team...Mett would have had to have thrown 6 TD's to win? Against Pitt, his best chance to win our defense couldn't stop them from the running the ball down our throats and the offense never got the chance to win the game at the end. The other Houston game, again, we gave up 30 points so Mett would have had to have thrown MORE than 4 TD's to win.

In case you're wondering the standard you are suggesting, take a look at Brady...one of the top 5 QB's to EVER play in NFL history. Brady threw 5TD's only once this season (5x7=35...still would have lost the two games we gave up 40+ points), 4 times twice (still would have lost the Houston game in which we gave up 30) and 3 TD's once (21 points isn't going to win you much with this team and you will see why in a second).

The Titans AVERAGED giving up 27.4 points a game. Brady wouldn't have won 8 games with this team and wouldn't have lasted half the season with this OL. Brady himself, as great as he is only put up more than that # 3 times this year.

You could put whoever you want back there but if everyone else plays the way they did last year, it won't matter. Until we build up the team, we don't know what Mett or anyone else can do and it starts with our OL and our defense.

everyone knows but I'll repeat it here anyways

7 was coming off major surgery. This made his mobility Bledsoesque. The OL was pretty real turrible so his ability to move up into the pocket was nonexistant.

Receivers were Titanesque. Granted the QB should help make them better.

Lets all hope that happens with 7 getting starter reps from day 1 in TC
