Hydrogen is lighter than Oxygen so it would be cool to throw an Hydrogen filled football.

Would not use hydrogen (remember the Hindenburg?), but theoretically this is possible. However it would also be very easily checked by sampling the gas in the suspect footballs.

As Vigsted mentioned, there is a rule about noise, it is just not specific about crowd noise. In any event there is NO rule concerning environmental conditions of pressure testing either. It is for that reason that I view these as comparable. You have previously mentioned that cheating is cheating regardless of rules (correct me if I am off on that, but I seem to remember you saying something to that effect in an earlier post)....how would this be different? That said, I will also say that I do not want to see any rules about crowd noise....just to be clear.

First off, by my reading the claim is "about 2 psig" (I corrected the term here). Secondly, I would be surprised if the measurement instrument used in the testing was overly accurate, or recently calibrated. Therefore any discussion about tenths of a psig here is way too precise for the actual accuracy of what was measured.

As mentioned previously, the balls used by the Colts could have easily remained compliant with the specs if they were inflated to the higher point of the range.

I have commented to your statement about the Colts footballs a couple of times already, but again, if the Colts footballs were inflated to the high end of the range, it is very possible that they could have reduced while remaining in the allowable range.

The amount of time it would take to reduce pressure due to temperature is less than you think IMO....the ball temperature merely needs to find its new equilibrium.

The point is that they deserve it. Anyone in any sport that dominates is under more scrutiny than everyone else. This topic is stupid because it seems such a minor thing, but when its a franchise with a history of wrongdoing that does appropriately bring more scrutiny.

There are obvious ways this issue can be fixed from repeating itself (some mentioned already in this thread). But that's not the issue as much as are the Patriots doing everything they can to skirt any rule for a minor competitive advantage. And I agree with the way you look at it, if it isn't specific then congrats to the Pats they might as well take advantage of what they legally can do.

But remember, a Patriots loss of a first round pick would help the Titans tremendously!!!! It gives one more option at first overall second round and for all we know could be a player we want or a potential trade bait player for the Titans.

So c'mon Deflategate, **** the Pats.
