Unless the league deflated the balls, we have the proof as we have the balls. We just don't know how it happened.

As far as I know, there is NO rule regarding crowd noise so how can you game a rule that doesn't exist?

It's not that they were in spec, it's that they didn't drop 2 lbs. if the Colts balls didn't drop the same, the elements couldn't be responsible for the full drop the Pats balls experienced.

Right. Cheesehead, I'm not saying that the elements would not affect a football. Just that if it was that, then both team's balls would have been the same. According to what I've read, all but one of those balls were about 2 lbs light. I'm doubtful that the weather would have caused them to deflate that much in one half of football anyway.

No actually that's not clear at all. The balls got deflated, but there's nothing to suggest it was done deliberately

Of course not. Just so happened that one team's balls were 2 lbs light. Make that 11 of them. Definitely happened by accident. I hope you were being sarcastic.

Actually there are rules against artificially creating crowd noise, eg pumping it through the stadium speakers.

No I wasn't. You, like so many others in here, are jumping to conclusions without a factual foundation.

What we know is that 11 of the Patriots balls deflated below regulation limits sometime between the pre-game inspection and halftime and the Colts balls remained within regulation limits.
We don't know the initial measurements and we don't know the halftime measurements of the Colts balls.
We also don't know how either teams prepare the balls for play. As mentioned before most teams wear the balls prior to game start to make them less slick.

That's not enough to conclude that the Patriots deliberately deflated the balls.

Is there any element you could use to inflate a ball that would easily deflate as opposed to oxygen? Say if you used hydrogen or something?
