gave you a H5 but that PO game in NE, 59-0 and the Testeverde FU TD are reasons enough for me to grin when the Evil Empire is in pain

The NFL interest started booming from 2000 and afterwards, when they started broadcasting it on national tv. There are a lot of bandwagon Patriots fans in Denmark, that know nothing about supporting a team that suck. And they're just too cocky, they need to be put down.

Cheating mofos. Repeated offenders, if they're guilty, the punishment should be hard. All of their draft picks from 2015 to 2020.

It is going to be absolutely impossible to prove they cheated. Nothing is going to become of this.

After watching the past few days and the Brady presser my theory on this is as follows:

Several years ago (probably around the time that Brady became the assumed long term answer at QB for them), the ball boys (or whoever does the inflating of the footballs) were made aware of Brady's preference for more flexibility on the football, and started inflating the balls to the absolute low point of the acceptable range. This became standard practice for them.

As mentioned before, in cold weather air becomes more dense, resulting in a decreased pressure in the football. Since the inflation was done in a controlled (warm) environment, the pressure decreases when the ball is in cold weather. For the Patriots footballs, this means that the pressure decreases from the pregame setting to a value outside of the acceptable range. Brady, who has been in this routine for a decade, likely did not do anything to the balls before the game, since, after 10+ years, the staff knows what he likes. If all of the balls were inflated to the same warm weather pressure (low end of the range), theoretically the would all reduce in pressure to the same cold weather pressure as well.

That is the only plausible explanation for this that I can see, unless Brady is blatantly lying here. I would expect that from Belicheat, but not Brady (not yet, anyway). If it is shown that Brady is outright lying here I will be very surprised (and disappointed, as I do have a lot of respect for him presently).

Brady is blatantly lying. Gillette is outdoors. they know the effing pressure drops below the lower limit in the cold.

Same story with the Pats. Belichek and Brady have wisely studied the limits of the rules and implemented that in their game plans. As with every "rule-breaker" they don't stop until they have to. They got caught on this one like they did with Spy-Gate.

Ever since 9-11 the "Patriots" have been the league darling. Brady has one or two illegitimate kids but never gets plastered for that because he has a "super-model" wife. The league made the "tuck-rule" for Brady. He is the league poster-boy. Robert Kraft is tight with Goodell and other owner's of the successful franchises (except for Irsay).

Goodell (league) won't weigh on this until after the SB despite this definitely "tarnishing the shield" in the league's most watched and focused game of the year. They certainly won't incriminate the Pats or Brady.

Just another shining example of the BS the league has become.

I agree about the Patriots pushing the envelope here....just curious, does anyone know whether the rule about football pressure specify where the measurement verification is to occur, or a surrounding temperature for measurement? If it does not it could be posited that the Pats did not break any rules (inflated the game balls to the minimum pressure in a warm atmosphere, follow up measurement occurred with footballs that had been exposed to a cold environment).

I am not saying that the Pats are not gaming the rule, but they may not be breaking it (technically, anyway), especially if the rule is silent to surrounding environmental conditions when inflating the football and checking pressure in the football. If that turns out to be the case, and this is shown to really be a big deal, the NFL needs to get more specific on inflation and testing conditions surrounding the rule.

Someone needs to experiment with this. Inflate a ball to the bare minimum in a warm/hot room... then put it in cold temperature environment - similar to temperatures at game. AND use the ball a lot. See if any real change occurs.

    Any.

Remember, they also change the ball a lot during the game. If that were not the case I would agree that frequent (continuous) use would offset the environmental conditions somewhat, but if they get switched out that is not so much the case IMO.

True. But where do these unused balls go until they are needed? Back on the Pats' sideline?

Why couldn't any tampering be done then? Excessive squeezing, needling... whatever...

Get someone with strong arms to also crush the ball repeatedly. See if anything occurs. Could be a combination of variables.
