This is just stupid. If this is such a point of concern by the NFL then why allow balls to be in the possession of either team? Why does each team need to provide balls. Why have balls with each team's logo so they are using their own?

Just have 24 balls that are randomly used by each team during the game.

I understand the kicking balls and how they can have an impact....but for the others I think this is another case of where this was setup to be an issue at some point.

Yea im pretty sure it's common practice to throw all game balls, that will never be used and haven't been tampered with straight in a freezer.

If the pats balls are the only ones effected they cheated, period. They are under investigation every time they go to the sb. If they are caught again, these assholes need to be punished severely. Belicheat should be done coaching. He sucked before brady and cheating. He's a b**** and so is brady.

It was fun watching the pats kill the andrew lucks.

This is the dumbest accusation ever.

Yeah... it was deflated balls that made Lagarette Blount run all over them or the reason Andrew Luck couldn't score any points.

Wrong. Each team has their own game balls. This cheating only helped Bellicheat

It was the deflated balls that insured blunt had a better grip and would not be stripped of the ball.

NFL ruled that Bellicheat indeed cheated. Bet nothing happens

I don't think any single person is suggesting the outcome of the game would have been any different.

But rules are rules, and I don't buy that it is just random coincidence that this happened with only Patriots balls and not Colts balls. I think the Pats will skirt or break any rule they can to get a competitive advantage and that is not okay and should result in discipline, hopefully loss of multiple draft picks!

All this talk of balls though...

Some of you guys don't seem to understand the concept of cheating. It doesn't matter if they got an advantage in the game. It doesn't matter if they would have won easily without cheating. That isn't how it works. If you get caught cheating on a test, they don't wait to see how you did before punishing you. That's stupid.

Without reading through the thread here (so I apologize if this has already been addressed), I have a dumb question.

If the Pats supplied 12 of the 24 game balls, were those balls only used by the Pats? Are the balls supplied by the Pats kept separate from the balls supplied by the Colts? If that is the case that is plain stupid, and would encourage this IMO. If it is not the case I really am not seeing how this would advantage one team and not the other. That said, I understand the whole "rules are rules" argument as well.

Contain your hatred of the Pats... I was merely trying to theorize how such a thing is possible.
