Been saying this since Luck's rookie season. They're just not that great.

Put them in the AFC North and give us the Browns lol... then see how the Colts do in that division.

The pats will always push the rules as far as they can. They know they can cheat slightly in the playoffs and suffer consequence later on and still make the sb. That's all that matters, that's why they stopped cheating in the reg season. F belicheat

The New England Patriots had 11 of their 12 allotted game footballs under-inflated by 2 pounds of air (PSI) as required by NFL regulations, according to league sources either involved or familiar with the investigation of Sunday's AFC championship game when the Patriots beat the Colts 45-7 to advance to their sixth Super Bowl.

Part of the investigation that still needs further vetting is how the 11 footballs became under-inflated. The game balls provided to each team for preparation were required to be inspected and approved by referee Walt Anderson two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff before they were returned to each team. No alteration of footballs is allowed once they are approved, under league rules and regulations.

The balls are required be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

    12.

    11/12 shows intent to me.

How many times do the Pats/Belichick need to be found guilty of blatantly disregarding the rules for something drastic to be done?

They lost a first round pick for Spygate. Too bad they had two that year and still ended up with one in the top ten(Jerod Mayo).

Should lose their entire draft plus hefty fines.

    Nobody cares

The Pats are America's team, ever since they won that Super Bowl the quality of the game has went down.

11 balls were underinflated and the refs never noticed? They touch the ball before/after every play! It seems that if the defender noticed the ball he intercepted didn't feel right, the guys spotting the ball should have too.

Until all of this came out, I didn't know that balls were brought by each team. That just doesn't make sense to me.

i feel stupid saying they cheated by deflating the balls but come on... 11 of 12? how in the hell does that happen without intent when they are checked 2 hours before the game?

belichick better get an enhanced fine like Suh did for repeat offences.

It's possible the Patriots prefer to inflate to the low side of the "legal" psi. Maybe those 11 were used during the game and naturally lost pressure. The 12th never saw the field therefor was still within the "normal" range.

To me it would be only a few of the balls uninflated if you were going to cheat. Less chance of getting caught and I'm guessing they could ensure those few balls stayed on the field a majority of the time.

The investigation should take in to account the normal loss of pressure by temp change and use on the field. Being spiked, landed on by piles, etc... has to deflate the ball some. Bringing the balls from within the building to the cold and rainy weather surely loses a few psi of pressure too.
