Honestly, I am fine not getting him as a player at all...I am completely pining for the ownership thing though. Having the Titans controlled by a Tennessee ownership group is what I really want.

If it takes Manning to spearhead this I want it to happen. If that means he comes here as a player for a season or so I am good with that, but it is not my primary interest here.

Having Manning here would be heaven. No one in their right mind can say Mettenberger is better than or will be better than Manning. It'd be like a chance to get Favre his first season in Minnesota, the one where he kicked butt! I think Manning still has it, he's just deteriorating faster playing in a cold climate like Denver. Let's get the signs back up, I'm all for it! A washed up Manning is still miles better than a Mettenberger.

If they come out with Viagra for arms Peyton will be OK, but at this point he will never have the arm strength to make it through 16+ games, without seeing what we saw with him against the Colts (no accuracy long, only able to throw short check offs late). Instead of choking in the playoffs, like he has his whole career, now he will start to choke even earlier. He's done.
I hope he stays in Denver another season. It will be fun watching him humiliated and end with a season like his first. Pouting and losing, maybe even throwing his team mates under the bus...:banjump:

Those PSLs would jump so high and no chance of season tickets for a long long time :(

We wish. I don't think all the PSLs would sell out again even if Manning came this year. Fandom is THAT down for Titans right now. Absentee ownership, bungled gate/concession operations mid-season last year, team sucking, etc.

I just don't think the UT/Manning nut-swingers are a big enough force that will rush in and put up the big bucks required for NFL season tickets.

I DO think Manning in ownership WILL help the situation. And I can see that Manning as a mentor to Mettenberger will help. No question Manning's brain is as healthy as ever. I believe Mett's arm is healthier than Manning's.

Yeah- interesting. Quote from that article:

"......and, with league sources believing the Titans could end up on the market at some point in 2015...... "

IIRC you gave me unmitigated chit for stating the Titans on the market was a very real possibility.

Wonder how the mood would be across the board the day we signed manning...?

I don't like the guy, but even I know better than to pass on him, his reputation in east Tennessee alone is enough to warrant a hire, we'd be crazy not to, just for the long term benefit.

Even montana finished his career in KC...
