So you're saying if both QB's are available at #2, no one will want them? I could see teams not willing to mortgage their future for Mariota if they will need to sit him for a year...but virtually everyone thinks Winston on the field is great and there are several teams desparate for a franchise QB.

Todd Bowles just became the HC of the Jets. Since I live in NY I can tell you how the reaction went. Wow! He's a great DC....but they need to get a QB NOW!!! He just saw what a great DC as HC looks like when he has Geno Smith at QB. That's what the Jets were last year...you think they wanna do that again? After Rex's bravado, the Jets fans will not be very patient!!!

I'm just going to start off and say that this is all hypothetical thinking on my part.

Nearly every mock draft has the Raiders taking Cooper with their number 4 pick. Oakland seems to really want/need a big time receiver to put with Carr. Do you guys think if the Titans were showing a lot of interest in Cooper with the second pick that Oakland may try to trade up to the Titans spot to take him? That could land them probably an additional 1st round pick, and they only drop 2 spots.

Then with the 4th pick there would probably still be Winston or Mariota left on the board. They could then trade back again to a team who wants a QB or whatever they wanted.

Again all hypothetical, but Atlanta did it for Julio Jones (although jumped very high) and Buffalo did it last year for Sammy Watkins

I know it doesn't happen a lot, but why not ask for some players who have actually played in the NFL and been successful when teams call to trade up?

If the Jets wanted to come up from #6, why not ask for their 2016 #1 pick, their 2015 2nd round pick, and Muhammed Wilkerson. That would give us a player we could sign to a long-term deal that already has playing experience that would be a beast for us on the D-Line.

I know teams don't tend to trade players as much, but I'd try to fleece any team that wants to move up.

I doubt wilkerson would be traded.

Been watching the coaching hires closely; easier to guess who may be willing to trade up based on personnel. Surely Jets OC Chan Gailey would love to have Mariota??

I dunno, if they are in love with Mariota they might do it. Having a QB trumps all in the NFL. Plus I've heard that negotiations with Wilkerson aren't going well on his new deal, so they spare themselves that headache.

He is a really good player, Id have him here no issues there, but at what expense.....

The only expense I see is moving down in the draft. We would obviously need to renegotiate an extension with him to keep him here, but we would get additional picks along with him in this scenario.

My main question was about asking for players in addition to picks, which doesn't happen so often anymore.

As much as I love Leonard Williams, I still think we must consider trading #2. I'm praying the Jets come calling and overpay severely for a QB. At #6 we're still in play for one of Leonard Williams, Randy Gregory, Amari Cooper, Shane Ray, or Dante Fowler.

Randy Gregory sucks. Don't know why he's considered a top-10 pick. I'd be shocked if he weighed in at what Nebraska has him listed(245). Dude looks like the DE/OLB version of Justin Hunter.
