Titans Are The First Big Winners Of The Draft......

If we trade, I definitely think the Jets are the best scenario for us. They get Winston at #2. We get #6, their 2nd, and their 1st next year (possibly another pick this year 4th round or later). That way we can still get a good player at #6 like Cooper or Shane Ray (who I’ve really warmed up to him here lately, I like him better than Gregory now). Then next year, if we still need a QB and Mett isn’t the answer, we have two 1st round picks to play with to move around. Next year there are at least 3, pure pocket passing QBs that will be 1st round picks. If we build the defense this year and get a good QB next year we could be set for a while.

 

The problem is, I believe Mariota is a "potential franchise QB" but I do not think Jameis is. If Mariota is there at #2, i'd take him... but if it's Jameis, no thanks.

 

Getting the Jets first pick next year would be great. They will be in prime contention for the first pick.

Come to think of it, so will we. Having the first two picks in the draft would be a fun combination of exciting, hilarious, and sad.

 

I don't mind passing on either one of them. However I will be extremely mad if we don't trade down and just draft another guy instead. Especially if a team after us trades down!

 

I'll be honest, I am not big on them taking a QB at #2. They have a TON of needs, especially on defense. That said, I can't be mad if they do. It's high risk high reward, and I like the thought of either Mariota or Winston looking good and having a solid backup in Mett. When is the last time we can say that as a Titans fan?..McNair/Collins (Drunk A$$). I want the franchise to be back on the map again. I doubt they will trade back (even though that's what I want) so might as well take the best defensive player or roll the dice on a stud QB. Just no more reaching at projects!

 

A lot better QB field coming out in 2016. That being said, I think from what I've seen from Winston that he's a comparable player to Luck (just not off the field). I know that sounds crazy. But the dude can play. When he's between the lines, I've not seen much better when he's on his game.

Having said that, let's switch players for a second. If Andrew Luck was coming out this year, knowing what you know now, BUT he had the same off the field issues as Winston would you draft him?

I've said it before. I could care less what our players do off the field. I don't care if they get DUIs, if they're gay, if they beat up their girlfriends. We aren't drafting our next pastor, we're drafting a football player and being rough around the edges comes with the territory a lot of times. We drafted Taylor Lewan last year and his off the field issues didn't seem to make a big deal to the Titans front office, so I don't think off the field issues are as big a deal as some of us make it out to be. Especially if the guy can play.

 

I agree completely. However, if they get arrested there's a chance they wont be able to play. Which would hurt the team. Unfortunately that's the way it is. I don't want to draft people based on if they're a role model or not. I couldn't care less about that as long as they can win.

 

Guys, in reality we are so bad that it doesn't matter which way they go. Any pick but kicker/punter at #2 has to be a positive...right?

 

It does matter. We could draft another Jake Locker over J.J. Watt.

 

Unless we get a mega trade, I'm on the Williams bandwagon.
